I joined a group buy for a 4 cavity Mihec RCBS 270-SAA clone in May, the mold shipped to me in September and a couple of weeks ago I finally got to cast some. This week I finally setup the Lube Sizer I bought around a month ago and sized a bunch. Finally got to loading some today.

It makes some really nice, big, heavy bullets, allot different than using the little Lee 2 cavity I've been using up until now. The bullet and round in the center are the Lee 452-255-RF just for comparisons sake.

It was my first time dropping big money on a mold, $110.00 for mold plus a set of Lee handles, I gotta say though, it was money well spent.

The first batch is sitting on top of 9 grains of Unique. Going to take the out and shoot them later this week.

Welcome to the world of SERIOUS casting.

Before you know it, you'll have dozens of custom casting molds like the rest of us.

Now, you need some serious lead.

Maybe a pile of gravel and range lead would be to your liking??? Please?

You right I think. [grin] I'm already entertaining the idea of seeing if Miha will do a group buy on a Saeco 955 (255 gr RNFP) clone. I could just buy the Saeco but, he does really nice work and I'd prefer a brass mold to an iron one. I like the Lee version well enough but, would prefer a single big lube groove over two small ones.

As for lead, more is always better. I'm still working off the M.I.T. clean out lead, thats what I cast these with. Also have a bunch of range lead to smelt yet too. However, If I'm going to be in neighborhood soon, I could maybe spend some time picking at a gravel pile.

No, you need to have someone haul the pile to your house! Then you can pick at it at your leisure.
I'm very serious. Make me an offer. I need it gone.

Ah! I see!

Unfortunately I live in an apartment building. The landlord would freak if I dumped a big gravel & lead pile in his parking lot.
