So apparently A new gun shop is opening in Springfield!!!! On Sumner Ave!!!! Next to the jewelry store. I am still surprised that Springfield allowed a gun store to be opening. I guess they are preparing for the new casino that's coming. I wonder how this is going to play out.

Given how actively anti the upper brass and most city officials are, I'm super surprised to say the least.

Any details on said shop?

I Think they have loosened up. I know of someone who recently was issued Class A unrestricted in Springfield. Went in expecting restricted and after a few months got the call to come get it and he got ALP.

I was issued a LTC Restriction Lawful Protection and a Machine Gun Permit in Springfield. I no longer live in the city and I will have to renew next year in Wilbraham. I hope I don't lose the Machine Gun permit. I had no problems or issues getting both permits in Springfield and that was four years ago. I am also happy to see a gun shop in Springfield I don't think there are any. The S&W Shooting Center was the only one I think that has been in Springfield for years and it is now gone since they closed the shooting center five years ago. Do you know who the owner is, he must have some juice.

I wish they changed their policy on removing restrictions. I got mine under the old chief. Submitted documentation for restriction removal and was told I'll have ALP upon re-upping since it wasn't for employment.

Hopefully the shop is decent!

That's amazing if it is true. Have you actually visited the place or at least seen a sign going up?

I did a little searching earlier. Found that there's a MA/Utah instructor on Sumner Ave but at a different address. They had a FB link but the page wasn't there.

Maybe connected??

This is will be good. Less than a 10 minute drive for me. I will definitely be visiting when they open!

I went by today didn't stop, however it doesn't look as though it will be a real gun store. The sign is all about LTC training and although it has the word sales on the sign it doesn't state Firearms Sales.
I'm not sure about this one, it just didn't give me a feel that it was going to be a real gun store. Has anyone else gotten any other info? This may end up being a disappointment.

Label me a bit skeptical too. Let's just say that if I were to try to open a brand new gun shop in the greater Springfield area, it would not be in that location... not in a million years. There are a hundred better locations that I can think of without even trying hard. [thinking]

If it is a new full-featured gun shop, I wish the owner all the luck in the world and I will be there to support the shop just as I do with any new shop trying to make it in Massachusetts. If it is really mainly for training or other purposes, I'll politely take a pass. More training is not on my radar screen for anytime soon.

Drove by the shop yesterday . I was going to stop but there was a fire across the street and traffic was a mess . Like others have " Not the best location in town " . I would imagine if they sell guns there will be allot of attempts at break ins

If its an actual gun shop, ill try it. I swear, it would be easier to find the Holy Frail than a real good gunstore. They either have no selection and great people, or asshats and a great selection.

I drove by slowly Thursday. It seems to only be some sort of LTC training center and firearms school. No mention of gun sales on the sigh. Not sure about the training there is no range. They must have to use a locale range or do not do any live fire?

I drove by today as well. Granted the sign does say sales but not firearm sales I would think that doesn't matters cabelas and bass pro don't have "firearms"on their sign but we all know they sell them. I met the owner and he informed me that it will be a full on gun store which is exciting. They also weekly classes and use several local ranges to complete their live fire training. One thing he mentioned was he was working on getting approved to have a range in their basement which sounds nice. I think he said the store will be opening in December which I will be looking forward to. Not to mention they will beat their competitors including gun broker. We will wait and see
