I bet the Police Chief never watched Reno 911

They played a couple of clips on ABC this morning. Their mistake was to air them in public. In today PC world you never know who's going to take offense any more....

I thought parts were funny. :)

I suppose that life imitates art. Based on the excerpts there is nothing there that is not on Reno 911, or any of the Police Academy movies. This is much ado about nothing, but today the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many.

The important thing to remember is that you can trust damn few people. Don't assume that your office mate, business partner or whomever you deal with on a daily basis has a sense of humor or shares your views. If that individual indicates that they are offended, even your apology will not necessarily placate them, and you could still face some kind of legal or disciplinary action. I remember a case where a guy repeated a joke that he heard the night before ON NETWORK TELEVISION to a lady he had known for years at work. She was offended and turned him in and he lost his job.

We live in a humorless, uptight society and I place equal blame on both the Left and the Right. The gays are offended by this, and the evangelicals by that.

The only fair target seems to be gunowners. If those SFPD members had decided to parody NRA members I am sure that Chief Heather Fong would applaud the officers who made the video as satiric genuises.

Apparently the First Amendment does not apply to San Francisco cops.

If this stuff had been played on Comedy Central, it would have gotten rave reviews.

+1 Total agreement there.

Mark you should try and catch and episode of Reno 911, it's pretty comical. They take police academy to a whole new level. [wink]

I love Reno 911, especially the Lt who wears the shorts and the African American lady cop. My only complaint is the complaint that I have with Comedy Central in general: too many commercials.

He should have sued the television network. If it was in MA, I bet he'd have won, too. [roll]

Yeah, that'd be about right for Woodchuck State Troopers.

My daughter-in-law's father is a retired VT State Trooper. Decent guy, but I knew him before he became a trooper.
