Hypothetically speaking?

As it appears that there is some chance that some version of an AWB is in the future. My question is this?
I paid in full for an AR-15 on December 18/2012. I was notified on 12/22 that I had been denied By NICS but approved thru Mass. My younger scumbag brother used my personal info to keep himself out of jail in the mid-90’s. I am in the process of appealing the denial which could take several months to complete. If they ban future purchases of AR -15 type guns would I still be able to get mine because it was technically purchased before the ban date?
I know that’s a lot of what if’s , just wanted to get people’s opinions.
Thanks,
John

The rifle is not yours until it is transferred into your name, therefor you would not qualify for any grandfathered situations or anything like that. If an AWB were to ban transfers, you're SOL. If a ban went as far as to make possession illegal then that is a larger problem for us all.
