Hunting Safety Course

So my buddy convinced me in buying the whole setup rifle, scope and etc. Problem lies that I do not have the Hunter safety course. Checked on line they are all gone!! Is there a place that I can complete this or do I have to wait til next year? Thanks

True, but you may be able to find a course in another near by state that you can take. It does not matter where you take the course as they are universally accepted.

The problem with finding one somewhere else is that (at least in Mass) all the instructors are volunteers, and not surprisingly, most are hunters, so they're busy during this time of year. That, and MassWildlife is busier, too.....

Your best bet is to lead the target, and go to the MassWildlife website, and sign up now for a spring course.

You're likely SOL for this year. You can't hunt deer with a rifle in MA, anyway. If you went to the hunter ed class, you'd know that.

Thanks guys I knew that rifle was not allowed in MA but we were actually going to hunt in NH and MA figured I would get the course completed in MA. If anyone knows anyone I am willing to pay a volunteer for the there time for the course I am very flexible for classroom and field day. Please call me at 5087351938 thanks Paul

I'm not sure about other states, but MassWildlife controls the courses, not the instructors, AFAIK....

Its a shame i live in Andover so that first course would be awesome for me but i work 7pm-7am tuesdays..maybe i can get a swap but by the time i do the class will be filled.

Been waiting for a Hunter Safety class to open up in the Attleboro area, even signed up for notifications, and nothing posted yet. Took HorizontalHunter's advice and found an open class in Rhode Island: http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/bnatres/fishwild/huntered/h_courses.htm . Called a Mr. George Hayes of the Rumford Hunting & Fishing Club this morning and he got back to me this afternoon. Will be attending the June 2nd and 3rd class.
