If you google it there are app’s to do it. I downloaded a bunch of reloading, gun building etc. videos. I don’t remember the app, when I do I’ll post it here.

I do the same. There are lots of sites offering to turn YouTube into downloads. For this one you paste the specific video's link and then select the format you want to download from the drop-down menu. The default is .mp3, which is audio only, so click and choose .mp4 or another under the "Video Formats" column. Hit start, wait a few seconds for the next page, then click the green download button.

YouTube Converter & Downloader - Convert to MP3, MP4, AVI

Some of these sites get nabbed by YouTube (Google) to stop it, so if they start denying YouTube requests you can just find another site.

I don't have one I use specifically but it'd be great to have one that doesn't f*** up the browser. Some of the ones that operate as chrome plugins etc end up f***ing up the
browser and making it unusable elsewhere. I'd like to find one that doesn't do that...

Might be a good idea if we could have a thread or a section to upload gun related vids that people may find helpful. I know we can attach a link now but once its gone from YT its gone from here as well (I think)

Im a tech retard so I dont know if uploading a 45 minute video to NES is even feasible or if there are any issues with uploading someones property here, but to me it sounds like a decent idea for us to build a little library for ourselves while we're still able to.

Does that sound like a decent idea or no?

youtube-dl is a command line utility - no browser involved.

I use youtube-dl from the commandline on Mac/Linux/Unix and I believe they do support windows as well. Not sure if ther eare any point-and-click UI tools for it.

If on Mac, can be installed via Homebrew

playon.tv is reasonably priced and can snag video from just about any of the services. I use it to record from Netflix, Hulu and Amazon to build up a library for long flights.
