How to save money at the range with your AR!

That was until I realized that I forgot my eye and ear protection. Tried using my sunglasses and stuffing pieces of a towel I ripped up as my hearing protection. After a few shots my ears were ringing and I packed everything back up and left. What a waste of a day.
To avoid this I have three ear muffs and three sets of safety glasses in my car at all times. Worked great till the day I took my wife's van to the range.[rolleyes]

Went to the range once and left immediately in a panic. I FORGOT if I closed and locked the cover to my firearm storgage box. (I did close and lock it, but I just could not remember doing it.) I HAULED ass back home, about 4 miles from my range. What a relief to find it secured. (I have kids.) Now when I close it I say out loud "Box is locked and secure" and put something on the lid just to jog my memory that it is really closed.

I do similar. I HATE being unsure if I'd locked up.

I've left a Dewey rod at the range and had to go back for it. My range is 11 miles away.
