If you have purchased or have been transferred a lower receiver, frame, or any other serialized item that was not capable of firing a shot, you must register it within Seven days of your completing it into a firearm capable of firing a shot. So here is some information to help you register a firearm that you have built/manufactured/assembled from a Lower/Frame/Receiver ETC.

WARNING: It is YOUR responsibility under M.G.L Ch.140 §128B to register any firearm, handgun, rifle, or Shotgun assembled out of any Lower/Frame/Receiver within 7 days of its completion. Once whatever you build is capable of firing a shot, it is considered complete.

STEP ONE: Go to the E FA-10 Website: Google E FA-10 form on Google.com to get the most up to date web address. The current link is right here:https://mircs.chs.state.ma.us/fa10/action/home?app_context=home&app_action=presentHome

STEP FIVE:Enter You License Number and Your Pin Number and click continue. If you do not have your Pin Number, You can now retrieve the PIN number for your active license to carry (LTC), firearmsidentification (FID) card, or machine gun license through the DCJIS by calling (617) 660-4722 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.You will Need your Name,Date of birth,Active LTC, FID card, or machine gun license number, and Driver’s license number (for identity verification).

STEP SIX: CLICK CONTINUE AGAIN: You do not have to do anything here. The owner (you) information will already be filled out and you are leaving seller information blank because no one sold you or transferred you a complete firearm capable of firing a shot. You completed the firearm and leaving seller information blank will show this.

STEP SEVEN
: ENTER ALL FIREARM INFORMATION: READ THE DIAGRAM BELOW CAREFULLY TO ENSURE THAT YOU DO IT CORRECTLY

a. Select whether you are registering a handgun, rifle or shotgun.
b. If the firearm is capable of accepting more than 10 rounds of ammunition, Select "YES" "LARGE CAPACITY", if not select "NO"
c.
Select "MAKE" of the firearm from the drop down menu. If it is not an option, enter it manually next to the drop down menu.
d. Enter the Model of the Gun.
e. Enter the Serial number and confirm it a second time in the other box.
f. Enter the Numerical Caliber of the firearm you have made. Then select whether it is MM (millimeter), CAL (Caliber), or GA (Gauge).
(i.e: 308. Win CAL, 9x19mm, 12GA)
g. Enter Barrel Length. (i.e: a glock 43 would have a 3.39" barrel so you would put 3 in the first box and 39 in the second box)
h.
Select gun color. If it is not in the drop down menu, enter it manually. Please be advised that "Black Polymer" is an option which would be the correct selection for a glock handgun as opposed to listing it as black.

I. CLICK CONTINUE

STEP EIGHT: VERIFY ALL INFO and CLICK SUBMIT
