How to write a letter properly to your elected official.

Feel free to add more links and or to add these to a different thread if this thread is redundant.

If you agree with what your representative is doing, send them a note or letter saying so, even if it's not about firearms. They might find you to be intelligent and may begin to listen when it concerns firearms.

My local reps are completely anti-gun. They do not respond to my friendly articulate letters at all. However, when my wife earned her Masters degree(in education), my local rep sent her a letter of appreciation. I therefore came to the understanding that they need a modified approach to learn to listen to topics that they don't want to hear.
When they know who you are as an intelligent constituent concerned with non-firearms topics, they will be predisposed to allow themselves to contemplate their positions on issues that they have previously held in distain.
