Funny.
I just sold my jet ski this past summer. Before I had a trailer for it, I would load it into the back of my truck on this 2X4 platform I made for it. I would just back my truck up into the water until the jetski started to float and I would push it away from my truck with my hand out the rear sliding window. I guess it made a difference that I was in a P/U truck and not an suv though!
