I have a fairly heavy steel bench that mypress turret press is mounted to. With the various junk I have stored on the lower shelves it is heavy enough to not move while operating my press.

I plan on getting a progressive press for reloading pistol ammo but will still use the turret for rifle ammo.

I don't have enough bench real estate to comfortably have 2 presses mounted. I don't want to have to unbolt a press and swap back and forth.

My idea is to build a small bench using all steel so its strong. The top will only be about 2' x 2' give or take. I plan to have wheels mounted to one side so it wont be resting on wheels but can be tipped back and moved like a hand truck. I have several flywheels from electric motors weighing 30lbs each that I will use as removable ballast on the bottom of the bench. Im thinking 200lbs should be enough.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

If you're building it, perhaps it's not too much trouble to attach a strong sheet of steel to the legs which would extend out underneath your chair...

My reloading bench is installed in a spare bedroom. A friend built it for me and used 4x4's for the legs, 3/4" plywood for the top. I can remove the top and replace it when it gets nasty, etc. My buddy lagged it to the wall studs. This is 13 feet long and I forget how high but I can work comfortably standing. To sit I use a bar stool.
It currently has a progressive and single stage cartridge presses as well as a progressive PW 12 ga. and 20 ga. sitting on it. It wont move or wobble for nothing. Unfortunately not all can tie up the spare bedroom for the hobby but it works for me.
