How many years until repeal of 2A possible?

So more than half the states are permit-less carry and someone honesty thinks 3/4 will ratify an amendment to repeal the 2nd?

I'd never say never, but certainly not in my lifetime and I'd be skeptical my kids lifetime.

The constitution is difficult to modify intentionally. The founders new public opinion was fickle. They just dealt with a revolution 1/3 of the people didn't want, and another 1/3 didn't care about. They made it difficult intentionally.

A fast-track would be a foreign incursion on US soil short of an invasion/nuke and all-out war. Not a non-state terrorist incident like 9-11, but even some small cells of C-R-I-NK nationals initiating a mass casualty event, that is not disowned by the country in question. Or it could be a major state-sponsored cyberattack resulting in nationwide disruption and/or deaths.

If Biden (or his surrogate) is in office 2025-2029 when this happened, they would push Executive Orders under a Commander in Chief role that didn’t explicitly suspend the 2ndA, but curtailed exercise of RKBA as a result. As that dragged on, we’d probably see the country divide and collapse into Martial Law.
We are having a foreign incursion problem and its only going to get much worse in a few days.https://nypost.com/2023/03/19/border-agents-arrest-16-people-on-fbis-terror-watchlist/

Hope something will be done, honestly. Getting so so angry and sad seeing how many shootings there are lately
Turn off your f***ing TV set for 5 minutes? Maybe? Worrying about shit most of us will have very little control over is a waste of time and mental energy.

The root of most shit laws = "somebody do something! Bweah! Arhmagerd! Ohnoes!!!"

As far as non civil rights infringing solutions go they have been around for awhile but most politicians don't have the balls to implement them. Like actually enforcing immigration law, keeping violent felons in jail, etc. Keeping looney bins open and taking patients.

Also you are kinda selfish- so you're suddenly "bothered by the shootings" but apparently you weren't bothered by like the shitloads of brown people shooting each other in exponentially greater volumes on the street over the past decade or two? 🤣

Protip: more people have been smoked in chicago alone in a LOW death year than all mass shootings in the past 100 years in America. Oh wait, that's too inconvenient.

But suddenly everyone cares when its a school or a mall..... white people shit... 🤣 not saying you are entirely biased btw, but MSM is certainly racist and biased. Dead black males from-18-28 years old don't drive up the ratings apparently.

My only feeling is.....court packing is very unpopular....he has not chance if he tries it now......but.if he gets in second time......they aren't holding back, they are gonna go for it all.

And there's #34,678.

I'm not worried. Joe's an institutionalist. He's not interested in that kind of fundamental change.

Remember, these people have the same voting power as gun owners. The power of one vote!

Ugh. The BS stat of "gun deaths are the number one killer of children" pisses me off. They use 18 and 19 year olds to extremely inflate that stat. Here is a graph seperating each age with gun and car accidents. This is what most of the liberals/anti-gunners I know start their argument against guns with.... Look at how much 18 and 19 year olds inflate that stat... Obviously most of this is inner city gang violence. Screenshot_20230508_135248_Chrome.jpg

You can repeal the Second Amendment today and it will not curb gun violence. There are simply too many guns in society already and the government doesn't know where the vast majority of them are. And that's exactly how it should be in my opinion, and the opinion of the founding fathers who wrote the Second Amendment.

No one in Washington is serious about solving gun violence. No one. How do I know this? Because no one even talks about where the majority of such gun violence occurs. That being black on black crime and liberal run dump cities like chicago, Los Angeles, and New York.

Also, no one talks about the mental health issues that we have in this country. Just look at all the transgender BS. These people are mentally ill, as evidenced by the fact that 40% of them will try to kill themselves. The statistics don't lie. Are we addressing their mental illness for what it is, or are we coddling, entertaining, and acquiescing to it? Here's something interesting. And you'll have to dig for it because the media doesn't cover the angle. But look up how many of the mass shooters in the last 5 years identified as some form of non-binary, transgender, rainbow unicorn elf folk. The number will surprise you. But you won't hear about it in the news..... anywhere.

Anyone who truly wants to solve the problem of gun violence in this country would address these issues. But no one in Washington even has the courage to talk about them much less propose legislation.

I have really been not liking modern society. I know we all bitch about "kids these days" and whatever and shit on the modern thing. Usually we do that becuase it's new and we just don't like it.

But over the past 15 years or so I have not liked the direction American society has gone. People have no respect for each other, no compassion for each other and act on basic instinct instead of using our brains. We are going backwards. It's dog eat dog and I don't like it. It's all about controlling each other and it's a bipartisan f*** job.

I feel like everyone is just fighting for scraps at this point and it feels very artificial to me. Hell, it probably almost certainly is as all this shit started to happen when social media took off which every friggen bad actor on the planet has played games with tearing people apart.

It's really sad. I don't have a lot of faith that it'll end well.

Joe's not in charge or has ever been and that's fairly obvious, its not Joe we have to worry about, its whoever is telling him what to do. Once they don't care about getting him elected again, they will pull his puppet strings or else.

If he doesn't go along, the media will pitch him under the Hunter Biden bus like yesterdays roadkill, he will be ousted....... and Cackling Camel Toe will for sure go along and giggle after, while trying to answer questions about the new 4 justices she installed.

I certainly want to be incorrect.......

I was chatting with a retired LEO from our
He said to me if anyone tried to take guns from those in the south there would be massive civil unrest. And he doesn't know a single LEO who would follow orders to confiscate weapons.
"Just doing muh jerb, how else am i gonna pay my mortgage?"

Now it's a fruity  salad

You are.

If I had a dollar for every time a poster here confidently predicted court-packing, I'd have about as much as I'd have for every time a poster here confidently predicted a Taiwan invasion.

I think Joe doesn't even know what any of that is at this point. He's more interested in "prescription jugs" etc. Well, that and the hair sniffing of adolescents, and calling voters fat. 🤣

Not gonna happen. Too many new gun owners and sane senators for now. I'm happy to see more and more women and minorities at gun shops. Several of my Asian friends are getting into shooting sports, and they're spreading the word of the gun gospel. This is why we need to vote for winners, not Trump fanboys.

Even if 2A was repealed today, there are still hundreds of millions of firearms in private hands. So it's gone and then what? Something like the prohibition era Volstead act to remove all privately owned firearms? So some people say not giving up the guns, maybe even millions of people. Then what? Suspend the rest of the constitution to grab at the millions of guns that couldn't be grabbed outright? That doesn't sound like the USA anymore. Sounds like a totalitarian police state and all the more reason to want/keep a weapon.

You can do something right now - be the change you want to see. Destroy all your guns and ammo, and anything else that constitutes bearable arms.

Then leave us be.
Nonsense. What's wrong with you? I will take them and lock them up in a safe, except for periodic safety checks at the range. ;)

Survival mode. The world is going to hell, everyone's walking around stressed out.

Everybody, call it a scramble
Full scale chaos, reckless abandon
Cats will sell they, hand for a handgun
Follow your commander, though you can't stand him
No plannin', wild and dangerous
Anger just permeate, so we learn to take
Hostility with a grain of salt
And step out the way, cause it ain't our fault

The Democratic Socialists who currently control this country are playing the long game. They already have been for many years. Like someone said prior: It starts in the schools, it continues with hearts and minds over time. Anti's do and will continue to outnumber pro-gun people like us, and as we die off and don't teach our children, every year it will get worse and worse. Sadly, it will happen. Maybe not in our lifetime but it is inevitable.

Make Demolition Man fiction again.

These latest string of shooting have one thing in common. The shooters were mentally unstable to just plain loons. Something in that area is what will most likely be the next push. I don’t see 2A going anywhere in the current political environment. At least not in my lifetime. I see a link between mental stability and gun ownership being pushed hard and that going forward.

That’s when therapists and psychologists start seeing patients leaving en mass.

Doctors already have the power to make you a prohibited person. All they have to do is lower the bar so anyone with a diagnosis of even 'mild' depression gets reported straight from your primary care office.

That’s the rub and where the abuse starts. If done correctly it could keep guns away from the truly deranged. But as with anything the abuse will be staggering and those that need help won’t get it.

Then they will just throw that cackling hen in there and she will just giggle her way out of the next 3 years, if the country even makes it that long.
It is now time for all of us, to do the thing that it is now time for us to do, in order for the thing that we do is done, and it's now the time for that.

You know, in country like ours, that from time to time utilizes a draft system to fill the military ranks, then inbeds in the young minds of these draftees as well as volunteers, that guns are the road to freedom and civil liberties and that guns insure these things will continue, it isn't likely that .gov, after shoving guns down our throats as a means of U.S. safety, will ever get to take our guns away after the fact. 2A, or no 2 A, our guns aren't going anywhere.
At MCRD Parris Island, recruits sleep with their rifles and prey to them each night. It begins with," This is my rifle. There are many like it , but this one is mine". You jar heads out there know what I'm talking about.
