I have been searching and can't find what I'm looking for. The Massachusetts state website says Ltc's are good for 6 years. I got mine last year and it is good for 5 years. Now my town website says they issue them for 4 years. I thought it was a standard time period for the whole state, can individual towns pick how long they are good for?

No, towns can and do some strange things when it comes to licensing but this is not one of them. LTC USED to be 4 years, now it is 6. Past your birthday? Well then it is 5 years and so many months.

Your first issue LTC will expire on the fifth birthday after issue (anywhere from 5 years and one day, to 5 years and 364 days)
You next one will expire 6 years from the expiration of the previous one.
Now......factor in the wait time for the damn thing. I'm 3 weeks into my Grace Period.....and I applied 10+ weeks befor expiration.

Thanks guys. I guess I had a few too when I looked at my license. I just saw the exp. year and came up with 5. It's actually 5 yrs 3 months.
Im going to assume my town website hasn't been updated since t changed from 4 to 6 years.
