When I was recovering from my hip replacement I watched a bunch of episodes of Snake City...they're nuts!

Give the mom the benefit of doubt. She is from Australia.... They got real snakes out there.....

I ain't gonna lie, when I go into the basement I'm in full focus mode. Feel like that thing is going to jump out at me. Didn't see him today.

Our resident garter behind the house got a bit larger the other day. Not often I find a good size skin intact. Can easily see the eyes on the head end. Each of the brick's wide end is about 8.5 inches, so this one is now over 2' long. Very docile. Just runs away. When I'm out with the string trimmer going around the house I almost always come across him. I think he's just used to moving along now. Always seem like it's the little ones that get feisty, those just sit there and lunge at whatever. I've seen plenty of the garters, a couple milk, what I think was a worm snake, and every so often we get a massive Northern Water Snake - THOSE are nasty snakes. They bite at stuff more than a snapping turtle does.

Don't mind them in the yard, it's the 'discovery' where suddenly the ground moves that gets the blood pumpin'.

Wife hates them. Always sends me out or one of the boys to do a "snake check" around the clothes line before she hangs clothes. I've instructed the boys to always use the phrase "Looks Clear". A reference to a scene in "Pitch Black". (^_^)

all the while, that snake could hear his mama's voice saying: "DON'T play with your food!"

About 8 years ago, a timber rattler slithered into my kitchen. Dogs barking, kids screaming, etc. It wasn't happy being company. I got the plastic top from a large tote as a barrier and it repeatedly rattled and then struck at the cover as I was ejecting it out our slider. It was a bit over 2 feet....big enough for me
