Very interesting piece on the GOAL FB page this morning -

Anti's complain about the NRA and their money, take a look at these "extremists", who of course support the Second Amendment - except for the parts about RKBA and "shall not be infringed" or course. "Nobody wants to take away your guns"...

"Lots of pieces connect here. The Joyce Foundation which spends millions to promote the anti Second Amendment agenda and was once directed by President Obama, also pays David Hemenway who was a major contributor to Speaker DeLeo's "gun viol...ence" committee. Their report provided the genesis of FID suitability and a bunch of other anti 2A amendments which have since been defeated. In addition to that, the Joyce Foundation has been a major contributor to the International Association of Chiefs of Police."

Do you have a link to that on GOAL's FB page?

Thanks and good find.

They can't add anything that didn't passv either house. The worst we can get is may issue fid. That's the only grievous part that passed through both.

May isue did not pass both. It passed house and the senate voted on am amendment 38 to 10 to remove suitability for FID

Correct. sorry for the confusion. But, they cannot add anything that was not initially in either bill-so the OGAM, magazine stuff, etc, is off the table. The most grievous thing they can do is the may issue and LEO exemption. But, thanks to the Boston police commissioner, that got national attention. And the dc ruling regarding possessing firearms outside the home, further erodes his stance. They have this week to finish it, time is short.

Boston Herald today has an article talking about Boston PD's low rate in solving homicides. They are saying most of they ones they don't solve involve guns. Full court press by MCOPA, and some other group like Bloomberg to get their suitability back in. They never thought they would have to work like this until about 10 days ago. All of a sudden everyday there is an "article" which either directly or indirectly points to a "need" for more gun control. Disgusting. The worst part is the sheep eat this stuff up, most people don't even question how these issues are suddenly being brought to light.

******
That's because of the inner city code of not talking to the cops.

Something or someone got them all riled up... there's 9 other related articles in addition to the main one...

The Herald article mentioned ballistic testing didn't really say it was a crock and has never solved a crime but the inference is that it is needed and even more so now.

I love the logic- "We have a poor solved case rates for homicides involving Firearms. Obviously, the solution is to ban firearms to improve our solve rate."

You can't make this stuff up...

I'm surprised the article didn't come right out and say a lot more homicides could be solved if micro-stamping was required for
all new semi-auto handguns.

Just called my state senator, Donnelly, he was one of the 28 that voted yes on S2265 amendment 63.1 to remove FID suitability. Left message with assistant saying I completely agreed with that vote and thanked him for that. And, if he has any influence on the 6 member committee, to please encourage them to keep FID suitability out of H4285.

These newspapers get many of their scoops (stories) from the chiefs, or their designated spokesperson. If they don't support the chiefs, one of their primary sources of information may "dry up". They'll have little to write about. KISS ASSES!

I saw an earlier post from someone indicating that if the bill made it out of conference committee it could be voted on at any time thereafter (meaning even next session), but I'm no expert on MA legislative procedures.

I understood, the governor has 10 days (not including Sundays), once it is placed on his desk, to either sign, not sign, or veto the bill. Not signing within the 10 day window, is referred to as a "pocket veto". It must be given to him before the end of day on the 31st.
