SWAT only needed a single shot! My thanks go out to the brave officers who learn their craft well. Do you think the bad guy was high on drugs? Do you think he would have killed the woman? Thankfully we didn't have to find out, what a shot!

The Police today take such a beating in the press, try to find this movie elsewhere, it's not front page news. A sniper saves a woman’s life and the story is buried. Is it because the guy was shot and not talked out of the situation alive?

I at times think, what if a bad guy, while shopping in a store, took some one hostage under similar circumstances - knowing that I could shoot a fly at 15 yards, would I take that shot?... if the victim were my missus of one of my children, and I knew if I didn't try the guy would follow through, I certainly would - but only resting my hand on something solid.... I'm not as steady as I once was.

Pete, you wouldn’t take that shot in Massachusetts, unless of course it was family or a loved one. Our fine DA has turned Massachusetts into an "every man for himself" state. Your best bet would be to talk the guy and hostage into driving to NH where you could have at him and be thanked. My God if this SWAT shooting took place in Boston, the hero officer would be home now on paid leave until a full investigation was presented to the Mayors council. Additionally, they would have to look into where the officer’s gun was purchased to make sure it didn’t make its way into Massachusetts illegally.

Liberals still can't grasp the concept that some people just need to be shot. Just like they can't grasp the concept that some people just need to stay locked up.

Texas murder defense: "He needed killin'."

Nice shot, and I'm glad to see that SOME cops in this country still know when to shoot someone who desperately needs it.

This was a text book resolution to a hostage rescue. It seems to me that it was probably a drive off / robbery that went bad. When he was questioned by the clerk he said he had gun but the weapon he used was a pair of scissors. Still a deadly weapon and someone made the decision it needed to be ended, NOW. The snipers shot was the "go" cue for the entry team and by the video it looks it was very well rehersed.

I'd like to know more. Distance, weapon, round, actual shot placement (he stood real still for the shot) and the reason they decided that the shooter had a green light if he had a shot.

Ahh, no costly long trial, no expensive jail time, no liberal judge involved, no defence attorney telling the sheep in the jury how it was'nt his fault- after all he was really the victim. Guilty.
