Would adding a bungee stretched over the notches fix most of that?
That's a good idea - maybe?

It just seemed like that too often as people were getting in and out of the bench that barrels were occasionally getting bumped.

Not a big deal, but after it broke off, I was in no hurry to repair it.

I was gonna whinge that with their notorious hypocrisy,
the original image probably showed a "Blood Ruby"
from a former colonial third world hellhole.

There could have been other problems I can't even imagine.
Just proposing a field patch for the most obvious problem.

Looks to be about 5' tall? I would think you might want something much higher. What are you shooting into that? You need to be careful of rounds skipping over.

Just under 8' tall, we shoot smart, not to mention road and houses are 1000' beyond the woods
