A very high percentage of home invasions here end with the invader being killed. Up there the mom would be facing charges starting with failing to properly store the gun up to and including, and here's the ironic part, child endangerment. Yep child endangerment. Because the gun, the one used to defend the child, being unlocked would have "created a dangerous environment" or some such nonsense. Her LTC gone and 2A right with it since she would undoubtedly be a PP by the time the state got through with her. Then come the civil suits...
