Hoffmans In Newington CT. Victim Of "Crash & Grab" Robbery

Gonna need multiple armed sentries in gun stores pretty soon.......or jersey barriers or dragon's teeth to prevent vehicles from getting near the building.

I'm confused as to how one of the largest shops in CT doesn't have rollup shutters or at least some bollards out front? Hopefully they find the shithead/s....
This, security gates and bollards or jersey barriers are almost a necessity for gun shops now. The crash and grab thing is most common attack.

The whole smash and grab situation is laughable. Let's see -- decriminalize robbery under a certain substantial dollar threshold and then add to that an ability of a shop owner to be sued into oblivion by the perp's family if the perp is injured by the shop's security measures. Fabulous society we live in my friends.

bollards to prevent a ram attack and then bollards in front of the barred windows so that the bars can't be popped with a jack or yanked very far with a chain. Just enough distance to allow for installation of the bars with a hoist and for replacement glass to be fitted. A tiered bollard/bar system like that could only be defeated by cutting or using a stolen tow truck with a high enough hoist to pull the bars out and up over the bollards. So you supplement the exterior bars with interior bars. The time it would take to beach the outer perimeter would allow sufficient alarm time response. Front door is harder to fortify with standard storefront because of not easily being fortified from being yanked with a chain, so you put the second inner door perpendicular in series, harder to yank around a 90 degree turn (Roman fort design strategy). Also makes the store more defensible if some idiot tries to walk in the front door to rob the place.

It’s a shame that we now have to expect gun shops to spend tens of thousands of dollars to secure themselves from all the scumbags our legal system puts back on the street.

I remember when smash and grab was a common problem with Tower Records locations back when CD singles were $20 a pop which is probably the equivalent of $50 today.

They should reveal the race of the robber.

If he was not white, that excludes 75% of the population so we can better focus the investigation.

The police may not want to perpetuate racial stereotypes, however.

Hold up. People would pay $20 for a SINGLE song when the album was, like, $22 at worst???? Shocked they went out of business with a great model like that. LOL

It was a way for forcing people to buy an album full of shit songs no one wanted because the $2 more seemed less offensive than paying a ton of money for a single.

Its why the RIAA threw an absolute shit fit with Napster and other peer to peer sharing programs came out before iTunes changed the sales model. Napster absolutely nuked their rape pricing model based on a physical distribution medium monopoly and iTunes swooped in to legalize the Napster distribution model with a pricing structure people were willing to pay.
