Hey guys, I a purchasing an HK USC .45 ACP this weekend, and was curious to know if it would be legal in MA to put a barrel shroud (no flash hider, etc. Simply a shroud for aesthetics)? I have heard mixed responses - some say for the M&P 15-22, it is completely legal so long as it is a barrel shroud and nothing more. Just making sure this is the case, and if that applies for the USC as well since it is a pistol caliber carbine, but also a long gun. Any input on what shroud would work/be legal is much appreciated! Thanks!!

If its the barrel shroud that slides over the barrel and gets attached under the hand guard your fine. Dont have to pin it. If it has a short barrel, like the UMp barrel thats 7.75" and you want a barrel shroud you would have to pin it to the barrel to make the barrel length 16" or greater. Either way is acceptable because it is a barrel shroud and nothing more.
