Please Read and Heed

I agree with Ross, most appear to be filled with silicone! [twisted]

Now putting my Mod hat on for a minute!

There is a fair amount of nudity in the referenced website, and I do not know that it is (or is not) appropriate to thus post said website here. Given that fact, and that the owner and another Mod are away right now, I am NOT going to take any action on this thread right now. [NOTE: If ANY woman on this forum finds it offensive, I request that they send me a PM and I will then remove the link until such time as a formal decision is made by all Mods. I do NOT want to do anything here that offends the women and drives them away. I will also keep the name of the person who objects confidential, so no-one else need know who objected.]

HOWEVER, since we are a "family" forum with some women on here (and their children may be in the room when they are looking at this forum and any links) and I hope a lot more will join us, I am going to make some requests of all participants until Derek and Tony return and all the Mods/Admin can make a formal decision:

- Please do NOT post any more URLs that lead to nudity for now. NO need to delete or change anything that has been posted (I'll tag the post as Nudity for now).
- Do NOT now or in the future (even if we give the OK to the links) post nude pictures directly on the forum. Thus, the reader gets a choice and not a "surprise".
- If something is questionable please post "BOTD" (Babe of the day) or "Nudity" before the actual info (or in the Subject), so that those that desire to avoid that type of material get advance warning.

I'm sorry to be the "Grinch", as I really love looking at pretty women, but I also don't want to make this an undesirable/uncomfortable place for the women who join us here.

Your understanding will be greatly appreciated.

Speaking as the female Grinch ( [lol] ), I'm not offended if you boys post links to other beautiful <cough cough> women, however to make sure that everyone knows it's not suitable for all ages, would you all kindly insert a warning such as "DON"T let the kids see this" or other appropriate message before the link for the clickee. Same applies for the ladies if you find the Chippendales (or close facsimile thereof) with firearms.

I thank you. :D

Eep.

OK, I know that there are some who aren't going to believe me, but... I really haven't looked at that website for some months. When I first found it, I looked at and realized "OK, they're different women in the same poses... I've seen enough."

When I looked at it, I was under the impression that all of them were wearing bikinis. When I saw the first link, I remembered this site (and had to do some searching to find it, as I couldn't remember the url!!). I really didn't look to see if they'd changed to full nudity or not, but it sounds like they did, so I do apologize if anyone got offended. I'll happily pull the link from my post if anyone wants.

And if you ladies get offended, I'm sure we can find... Oh, never mind. [twisted] [oops]

I'll be darned - there is. Wasn't there before, honest. Or I just missed it. Must be getting old...

Can I pm you if I find something offensive,or are you only concerned with the feelings of certain people ? You do realize you just opened a can of worms here, right ? we are all adults here and I am sure women know men like pictures of nekkid women. There is no need to post nude pictures here, but to censore a post because it is linked to a website that contains nudity is absurd. If a women was to actually complain about going to a website and being offended,it might be time to turn the computer off.

It's just a guess, but I think this may be your first job modding a forum LenS.I have been modding forums for quite a while now,and what you said is true, but to actually admit to catering to a certain segment of the community is "not a good thing".Stating this is a family website is good enough for everybody to figure out what is right and what is wrong.

FWIW I am not wanting to post nekkid pictures,or swear a lot here.I don't want to offend any women that are here, but I would never actually admit to it. :P

Ross,

No need to delete the link. With a warning, I think we can let it stand for now until the "boys" get back from Camp Perry and all the Mods can hash out what our CofC should be.

Greg, yes anyone can PM me (or any other Mod) if they find something offensive. And the Mods will discuss it and make a decision one way or another.

I may have knee-jerked a bit when I realized what was on that link, I probably could have stated it better. But if I was really over-reacting, I would have yanked the post or deleted the link. I did neither and just put a warning on it until all the Mods are around and can discuss what a reasonable CofC is for this forum.

I "owned" and moderated a couple of forums at DEC (actually they were called Notesfiles back then but today's equivalent are forums such as this). Big differences were that all users had to use their real names as posting names/Email addresses (corporate policy) and they were on company hardware (but we did have a forum "Sexetera" and a few others that were pretty raunchy). I also moderate a few eGroups, but they are specialized with a restricted user list and not an issue.

This is the first "general" forum I've moderated and I was asked to do this by Derek and agreed after discussing how he wanted things done. I am also a Mod on another forum with almost no traffic . . . where I was "appointed" without even being asked first! We are trying hard to be a friendly place and not turn into what has become of the AR15.com forums (I've been on the AR15 eList since 1998 and the forums since ~2000). Even there, the pictures linked off of the posted website do NOT conform to their CofC as they have a firm policy of "no nips, no lips" . . . lots of nipples showing in the referenced pictures, pubic hair, etc. (and I did not check every page).

Now, I think that the issue which AR15.com's stated policy addresses primarily is just as important here (and I could have stated it as such and blew it initially) . . . and that is that a fair number of users access the forums from work and in today's world, scantily clad ladies (not to mention nude/partially nude ones) is enough to get some people fired from their jobs. This is not a "friendly" thing to do. So on AR15.com they insist that "BOTD" (babe of the day) be tagged on any thread that contains scantily clad women OR a link to such pages (also HOTD for men who are scantily clad). That allows people to be discreet and avoid problems at work.

I apologize, but the above should have been my primary reason for raising the issue.

Secondary issue should have been to ensure that the women feel comfortable here and aren't driven away by guys posting links to nude/semi-nude women. Some find it offensive and we need more women in the sport and self-protection area, not less. Likewise if our SOs "get into the shooting sports/self-defense" that will allow us to spend more money and time on toys without getting flak for it. Goodness all around.

I hope this makes more sense?
