This happens every 5th or 6th round.

Field stripped the rifle, cleaned and lubed. Same problem.

I'm shooting Greek CMP ammo but did it with other ammo too.

I'm stumped.

Yeah you may need to get a chamber brush and clean out the chamber more?

Two thoughts occur...

Do you have more than one en bloc clip, and does this malfunction occur with any/all clips? The clip after all, is the magazine feeding mechanism.

Does the rifle have a good recoil spring?
Whenever I acquire a new M1, I always replace the recoil spring with a new USGI spec spring. It makes a big difference in not only how the rifle functions, but also in perceived recoil. A new spring makes the recoil feel softer.
Make sure you properly lubricate the spring upon installation.
Fulton Armory tracked down one of the original USGI contractors, and their springs are made to the original gov't print.

When did the problem start?

I would recommend a detail strip clean and lube inspect carefully.

There has, been a,few self induced M1 failures recently here on NES.

I will add , how's the extractor and ejector?

I have only replaced one spring when the enbloc's wouldn't eject.

Only fails on live rounds so I don't think it's an extractor/ejection problem.

It started failing on the previous trip to the range. I thought it might need a good cleaning, so that's what I did. Broke it down, cleaned the hell out of it, inspected, lubed, and put it all back together. The chamber was also well cleaned. Back to the range; same problem.

I'm using CMP Greek bandoliers ammo already on enblocs. Tried other enblocs that I loaded myself with the same results.

I think I'll try a new recoil spring and see what happens.

did you do a detail strip http://www.civilianmarksmanship.com/detailstrip.html

what did you replace for clip ejection problem

The stock might be a bit snug in a few places also....
For the round to find its way above the bolt with a partial chambered round the clip would have to completely release the round to early.

Hmmm thats odd. At first glance it looks like a clip issue. When you load your clips are the bullets close to even? Im just wondering if you have some sticking out further and getting hung up. Doubt thats the problem but doesnt hurt to check.

S O L V E D I hope. After closer inspection, I found that all of the jam problems occurred on all en bloc's marked "SF". Hell, I didn't even know the were marked at all as the packerized coating practically makes the markings invisible. I took out other enblocs I had in a coffee can marked "L&H" and boom, not a single failure !!!! I thought all enblocs were created equal. Live and learn.

I've been reading the CMP Forums and they suggest using only USGI enbloc clips. I can't seem to find exactly what IS a USGI enbloc. Would that be anything made in the US? Also, if packed in a CMP Spam Can as the "SF" ammo was, isn't that USGI ammo/clips? So much to learn . . . .

There are plenty of guys out there who collect enblocs like anything else. Look at the ones you have and you'll find more markings than you ever imagined. Check this out:

Know, too, there are other styles for certain purposes. There are the "sleds" that are for single feeding rounds for slow fire competition. There are also enblocks that only hold two rounds so you can rapid fire ten rounds: two rounds first and then the regular 8 rounds. I have mine marked with red nail polish so I don't lose or confuse them. Try shooting 10 rounds in 60 seconds accurately off hand at 200 yards with a mag change. Quite fun!
