Ruger Mini 30 or SKS?

Your experience is helpful.

My previous experience with Mini 30 is that I knew I was shooting a rifle but accuracy was underwhelming.

Is the SKS on par, better or worse?

They don't make them anymore unfortunately, so maybe hard to get parts for.
I had one ,wish I had kept it. It takes AK mags, which are cheap and 'pre ban' easily available .

Eta: once you own a x39 platform you will invariably pine for a bolt gun as well. Having shot my fair share of x39 the CZ527 in x39 is one of my favorite bolt guns.

No no on the Mini30 for sure. A Mini-14 covering .223 was enough for me. Cost of mags too is ridiculous for the 30.

depends upon a price.
good sks will work well.
vz58 is more expensive and also will work well.
an ar15 upper in x39 will also work ok. a lot of choices out there, if you really think it is worth to keep using that caliber.

Definitely go for the sks. Hopefully you can find one with the folding bayonet and grenade launcher muzzle device thingie. Also, loading the gun with stripper clips is fun.

You can build an AR39 for real short money. I got the bear creek arsenal complete upper for like $250. Slap it on a poverty pony lower

Mini 30 can be fun. But there is no comparison.
Your question would have been just as good if you asked sks or just throw the bullet.

I did research once on the mini 30 and heard that it doesn’t like steel ammo. That made me not want to bother with them and stay ak/sks for x39

Browning BRN180 upper in 7.62x39 on whatever lower you want, I'm using an Aero, the best part is it's an AR platform that can have a real folding stock.

Even the Norincos are fine.

That's what these are made for. You can carry a lot of them in an ammo pouch.

Assuming you're asking because you want to start a revolution in a 3rd world country (or part of the US), the correct answer is SKS.

The judges would have also accepted answers containing either/or "Gold Tiger Stripe Deagle and Solid Gold AK."

Are those really your only two options? There are an awful lot of good AKs on the market and even good AR platforms like the KS47 that’ll run that cartridge.
