Hey everyone,
I am new to the forum and have a question that I'm hoping someone can help with. I have an old Remington 721 whose bolt lock spring (part #29 on the diagram) popped out on me while I was cleaning it. Can anyone offer advice on where it goes back in? The model I have does not have the same spring as the modern 700 (it's tiny) and the parts diagram is vague. It also doesn't make sense where they are showing the spring should go. Any help would be appreciated. Thankshttp://stevespages.com/ipb-remington-721.html

Update: I figured this one out. There is a small hole for the spring located in the receiver just above the back of the bolt stop lever. Unless you have the rifle in the right light and at the perfect angle, you'd never know that it's there. My model is a 1951 and there seems to be very little info on it. Lots on the 700 which is nearly identical except for the bolt stop spring! Hopefully this helps someone out down the road. Thanks for looking
