Trying to change out an A1 stock for a collapsable stock for my friend... I have never seen a buffer tube stuck so tight!!! the metal on the end actually tore away as I was attempting to break it loose using an adjustable wrench. ANY IDEAS?!

thanks

First, you need an AR stock removal tool. Then, put some heat to it. Most likely has Lock-tite on it. Start with a hair dryer - be careful nothing plastic melts. If it does not work, CAREFULLY work your way up to a heat gun with a controlled nozzle. Again, make sure nothing other than Lock-tite is melting. Last suggestion is a pinpoint gas torch available at big box stores. But before you go further, get an AR stock removal tool.
Good luck.
