Not sure if this is a dup.
But, just read this on F.B.

In light of recent concerns, Harbor Freight Tools would like to clarify its position on ‘open carry’ (openly carrying a firearm in public).
We understand that there are a wide range of views on ‘open carry’ and other policies concerning firearms. We believe these policies should be addressed by the appropriate government agencies—not by Harbor Freight Tools. As a company, it’s not our policy to take a position on these issues other than to respect federal, state and local laws currently in effect.
Accordingly, we permit ‘open carry’ for our customers in jurisdictions where allowed, provided the firearms are carried in compliance with all applicable laws. We also ask our customers to be responsible and respectful of each other and our store associates.

Also, most of the magazines I get from the NRA also have a few pages of coupons for H.F.

lol

Sorry about that.
Just thought I would share some news from a business with common sense.
I just dropped a couple $100 there today. It's their parking lot sale this weekend.
And yes, I was CC. The store I visit is in kind of a rough area.

Webdah Square in Worcester?

If they would only sell cheap chinese made guns also. Now that would be a perfect man store.

p.s. my store is the ghetto worcester store too. lol

Sorry to off topic a bit here. I used to work for Dunbar Armored and Starbucks was one of our customers. I used to get such a kick out of going in to Starbucks for a coffee break with my vest and pistol on and watching all the yuppie libs freak out.

The policy matters little, they could ban guns and skinflint gun owners would still be there buying trash.

Yup, Mill Street Wistah.

There's some interesting people in that parking lot sometimes.

Hey, that was ME in the parking lot!

LOL, you are right about the parking lot. Bar scene from the original Star Wars.

Go ask Starbucks, or one of the other places that has a no-carry policy.

Ah, I wish Starbucks' market was 99% Pro 2A. HF and SB do not have the same type of clientele. I'm sure that quite a few SB costumers went "Yippee" in their Unicorn pajamas when SB announced their "No guns allowed" policy.

On the other hand, many of HF's clientele would have spilled their morning Bourbon&Coffee on their denim underwear if that would be announced by HF. [laugh]

I'm actually not that PO'd at Starbucks for their policy, it's not really what MDA wanted at all, is just a step to the left of Harbor Freight:
Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said:
Our company’s longstanding approach to “open carry” has been to follow local laws: we permit it in states where allowed and we prohibit it in states where these laws don’t exist. We have chosen this approach because we believe our store partners should not be put in the uncomfortable position of requiring customers to disarm or leave our stores. We believe that gun policy should be addressed by government and law enforcement—not by Starbucks and our store partners.
. . .
For these reasons, today we are respectfully requesting that customers no longer bring firearms into our stores or outdoor seating areas—even in states where “open carry” is permitted—unless they are authorized law enforcement personnel.

I would like to clarify two points. First, this is a request and not an outright ban. Why? Because we want to give responsible gun owners the chance to respect our request—and also because enforcing a ban would potentially require our partners to confront armed customers, and that is not a role I am comfortable asking Starbucks partners to take on. Second, we know we cannot satisfy everyone. For those who oppose “open carry,” we believe the legislative and policy-making process is the proper arena for this debate, not our stores. For those who champion “open carry,” please respect that Starbucks stores are places where everyone should feel relaxed and comfortable. The presence of a weapon in our stores is unsettling and upsetting for many of our customers.

Compare this to Costco:
Costco.com said:
Costco reserves the right to inspect any container, backpack, briefcase, etc., upon entering or leaving the warehouse.
. . .
Costco policy prohibits firearms to be brought into the warehouse, except in the case of authorized law enforcement officers.

Thing about Starbucks is the coffee is like liquid crack. I friggin' love the stuff. That said, every day going to a Starbucks for my "fix" is like walking around Harvard Yard (I can only imagine what the Starbucks in Harvard Square IS actually like!)...

HOWEVER..
One thing I notice frequently when I'm at Starbucks - and I'm not being sarcastic wiseass here, I'm totally serious - is that any attractive chicks (of any age) that frequent the place are really, really REALLY into those of us that are just regular, average, blue collar, jeans & T-shirt guys (maybe cuz most of the guys they're with look like they're getting ready for next week's Pride Parade?)...

And for every Starbucks chick that'd FREAK if you open carry in there? There are nine others in there that would absolutely get off on it....and would do you on the spot. [wink]

If you think its a no guns allowed policy then you have reading problems. Starbucks bs is the biggest non policy ive ever seen.

This. Starbuck$ made emotional noises about guns being scary (moonbat's crack) and asked everyone to disarm. No real world effect.

That's not the way I intepreted the Starbucks response to the open carry arguments about their stores. They could have posted signage and a more forceful weapons policy, but chose not to.

Extremists on both sides were attempting to draw Starbucks into the issue of open carry, when all Starbucks wanted to do was push caffeine. The press release was all about SBUX asking people to stop putting their stores in the middle of the dispute, let them get on with the business of selling coffee-hued milkshakes.
