Are threaded barrels on handguns legal in MA? If not, what has to be done to the threads to make it legal? Can the flash suppressor in the picture be permanently attached to the barrel to make it legal?

Depends.
If handgun has an unloaded weight of 50oz or more (among a few other things), a threaded barrel isn't legal in this state (unless the muzzle device is permanently attached).
Semi-automatic pistols with detachable magazines and two or more of the following:
* Magazine that attaches outside the pistol grip
* Threaded barrel to attach barrel extender, flash suppressor,
handgrip, or silencer
* Barrel shroud that can be used as a hand-hold
* Unloaded weight of 50 oz (1.4 kg) or more
* A semi-automatic version of an automatic firearm
I don't understand the need for a flash hider on a firearm like that. If your worried about your location being discovered while touching off a .50 cal (I assume?) you would be better off with a silencer. If anything that gun could use a muzzle break instead.
Not to hijack, but would this be illegal, then?
