Hello,
I am mostly looking for self defense at home. I do not think there is time to start using the sights so need to shoot from any position. Also I like high capacity. 15+ rounds.
I think that long barrel is easier to shoot from any position.
1. Am I right on my assumptions?
2. Lets say I am right. What pistol would you recommend? I was gonna go for glock 34 but it's mad all out of plastic even the inside.

Please let me know your opinions.
Thanks.

The glock 34, and 17L are amazing . Go with that especially if your trying to find a legal capacity with preban mags, why not just buy yourself a preban 33rd stick?

sorry I am new to firearms in English :-).
Stick you mean magazine?

Yes we call them 33rd happy sticks. They are old glock 18(macine pistol) mags.

And anything in a glock is going to be fine for Home Defense. Head over to like gfa arms tec in framingham , or head to four seasons in woburnand pick up a used glock, they run forever.

Airsoft make tons of handgun with capacity of 100+ rounds. It's also have FullAuto capability too.

Yes, they have a Glock 34 model.

How old are you, and have you ever taking a firearms training class? New 34's are gonna be hard to come by, and you won't find them in any shop in MA for sale to civilians. All firearms require that you use the sights. There are a plethora of hi cap 9mm that you would be able to obtain pre-ban magazines for, if you are willing to pay the premium for them in MA.

I must have missed something? I always use the sights. Maybe thats what I am doing wrong. I guess the new way is to "walk" the rounds onto the target. lol

if you start using the sights on shorter distance you'll be shot. It takes time to use the sights.

Laser grip sights on a semi auto like the M&P are a good idea. You can see where you are pointing without having to bring the gun up to your eye. Seems like an advantage in a fast moving situation, especially in the dark.

I had a grip sight made by Crimson Trace which I thought were great. It turns on automatically when you squeeze the grips.

Thanks but it adds bulk. Like using you cellphone with wired headphones always......
I am not looking for devices. I am looking for a gun with long barrel that is legal under MA stupid laws (I do not mind to take a used one too if it is legal)

then what is the point of a longer barrel if you are not going to use the sights, the only reason for a longer barrel is sight radius and velocity.

try shooting your target without sights from M16 and from some micro mini pistol. You will see the difference. If the barrel is longer it is easier to see where you are pointing.
So can anyone give me an answer?

Full size guns easily available in MA with legal regular capacity mags:

Glock 17
Sig 226
baretta 92

are basically de-facto.

Best answer is to get a handgun your comfortable shooting with, and then get some training /practice on it. Using sights vs. not using sights is shaving 100ths of a second off trigger time. If you're in a self-defense situation where that matters, then you're already dead.

Follow this advice and I'm closing this thread before I get that email that says "How do I delete my account."
