H&K's turn to go woke ???

Using good looking females to market products is as old as the world. I remember going to Comdex in Vegas in the 80s. We called them Booth Babes and they were everywhere. I like the eye candy as much as the next guy but times change and for the most part we've moved beyond that and I think that is a positive thing. The bottom line is I never once bought a product because of a good looking model pushing it. I have no problems with companies moving on from old school marketing but I don't want a bunch of virtue signaling shoved down my throat when they make the move.

No smart purchaser ever buys a product because a good looking woman is pushing it unless the product is the one they want.

But, the woman gets you to look at the product or take pics and share with friends, it increases visibility, so it is a win.

When women become a major customer of gun companies you will see shredded dudes wearing CK underwear with guns.

But let's be honest, walk into 10 gun shops, how many women do you expect to see shopping there? ... I expect to see maybe 1 woman and at least 30-40 guys between all 10 gun stores.

Complaining about women in advertisement is either soy boy crap or jealous women.

While I agree this is cringey advertising (especially in an industry with a booming female customer base that didn't exist 20 yrs ago, not a smart move if you're trying to get a share of that) this isn't some kinda "morality hill" most people care about. Maybe you do, but I don't.

How about - these companies dont force women to be models, so the most empowering thing you can do is let women decide what they want to do for a living. But, I guess now it is OK for men to tell women they can't do certain jobs. Funny how that works, when feminists in Latin America fight because some job ads say "no women", here we are making it cool to go in that direction again.

How do you arrive at that conclusion? [rofl] Are you suggesting that all the people commenting are tradcons? That's a pretty silly assumption, if so.

Protesting "wokeism" is not an activity only linked to "conservatives". Many people regardless of political platform hate it simply because it often reeks of political agendas and PC bullshit being pushed on them. wokeism and cancel culture are generically cancerous to our society, and you don't have to be a tradcon, a hardcore jesus juicer or anything like that to actually believe that. That said I don't think the HK marketing ladys thing is strictly an issue of "wokeism", although when you look at the original tweet it comes off in a bad light and I can see how it reeks of wokeism to some people. The thing is there's really a better way to send that message without essentially doing some weird passive aggressive thing. If you want to show that you value women, then instead of talking shit on the internet, HK, go hire some women, that regardless of appearance know your guns and know how to shoot them. Then you can deliver the message without the drama, and without being accused of sucking for woke/cancel culture garbage.
