Ok, so if any of you have a DVR, you might want to set up a marathon of Modern Marvels on the History Channel.

They are going to be running these on Feb 9th.

Starting at 8am
"The AK-47"
The Development of the Deadly Avtomat Kalashnikova, 1947 is discussed by it's inventor Mikhail Kalashnikov

9am
"The Magnum"
The History of Magnum Firearms

10am
"Ball Turret Gunners"
The work of ball-turret gunners

11am
"Machine Guns"
Examining the historyh of the machine gun, from the Gatling gun first used in the Civil War to modern high-speed automatic rifles.

12am
"Super Guns"
High Tech firearms are examined

It looks like they will be re-runing these same episodes again that day from 2pm - 6pm

My father, a long time NRA member where i've only been one for 3 years, has been getting VHS tapes every other month from the NRA that are actually Tales of the Gun episodes. Hes got nearly the whole library now and watching them is always fun, but i've seen that the History Channel's web site now offers them on DVD. The price for the collection is so high my mind has erased it for fear of shock. [shock]
Edit note: I had to look and was reminded of the agony of such a price. http://store.aetv.com/html/product/index.jhtml?id=74623
549.95!!!! Do you guys realize the milsurps and ammo I could buy at the next show for that price?!?! That fact alone will keep me from never buying the collection. [lol]
