Police in Candia and Deerfield are warning the public after a man claiming to be offering snowplowing services was suspected in two residential burglaries in which several firearms and iPads were stolen.

The break-ins are believed to have occurred Monday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Mayhew Drive in Candia and High Meadow Drive in Deerfield.

“We strongly believe that they’re connected,” Candia police Cpl. Dan Gray said.

Police are looking for a man who may have been involved. Gray said it appears the man approached homes under the guise of handing out fliers that offered snowplowing services. If no one came to the front door, Gray said he, and possibly others, would head to the rear of the home and break in.

Firearms were reported stolen from a safe inside the Deerfield home, Gray said. In addition, iPads were taken from the same home and the one in Candia.

Gray wasn’t sure what types of firearms were stolen.
