Alright, as you all well know everything is going full retard right now and the "Blue Wave" and its intent in full on ramming anything through no matter what with no lube regardless of who gets hurt by the poorly thought out legislation in its wake, just like spacey Joe's racist 94 crime laws that Kamala unapologetically built her career on enforcing.
Its important for you toto fully realize what you are really up against now in 2021 and shape your arguments and language to fit it
Over the last 4-8 years I have watched this rift between "Red team vs Blue team" go from simple disagreements of neighbors opinions expand into a veritable chasm of "Us vs Them" mentality with communication between the sides basically being non existent. "Team Blue" and self proclaimed progressives no longer see "Team Red" as being of the same tribe, and that is just outright dangerous at times, especially when it starts making our civil rights something only one side utilizes or appreciates.
You have essentially been cast out of their conversation. Shunned and pushed away because that's what the tribe has told them to do. To shun you for your stances rather than try to understand why you have them. They do not care about 'Muh freedom'. They do not care about the idea of 'government oppression' in regards to the 2A because 'Now... Now they're in charge.. They are good and virtuous through nothing more than their principles, and NOW is the time they will get what they want done'... Hence all these bills getting rammed through no lube style
These people don't see you as a caring human being any longer. They don't think you care about peoples suffering or that you want to make things better for others... You defending the 2A automatically in their minds means you somehow fantasize about hurting others or getting to use your firearm against someone someday. They think you are selfish and do not care about others or bettering society. They've dehumanized you and your politics to the point that they can throw around the word "Nazi" or "Racist" to do so with a ease, so much so that is a disservice to those who have genuinely suffered from either..
They've weaponized their language to the point that there simply is no more room for simple talk if we use the same old tired arguments, and anyone who expresses views that line up in any way with what they see as the "Others" is quickly demonized and stamped our regardless of its realistic or historical merit...
They now see themselves as the 'We Love and Care about Others' tribe, when in cold harsh reality it is nothing more than a thin veneer
And so I say you should to change your arguments
The only way you are ever going to combat these people now is to make them second guess themselves, their ideas, and their own view of their self virtue.
You should to Shame them the same way they do, Plain and simple...
The argument should now be that Gun control, and the Democrats and many self proclaimed Liberal Progressives endless efforts of pouring funds into the pointless goals they do, is nothing more than 'pat them selves on the back' efforts to say " we did something" while actually accomplishing noting, and it is racist and a criminal disservice to society as a whole.
It takes funds and much needed efforts away from mental health research and disproportionately effects socioeconomically challenged areas that are historically populated by minorities, outright stripping them of the their natural right to self defense.
It is morally reprehensible to the point that is outright criminal, and they need to have their weaponized ignorance thrown right back in their face.
You wont be well liked, but you will likely disarm them and leave them with nowhere to do go but question their own ideas and who they really hurt
