Gun shop planning to open near Dedham playground, community outraged

1. First a gun store near a playground

2. Then a Pizza Parlor near a playground

3. After that a candy store near a playground

Lets see:

The gun store could save your life and maybe someone else's

A pizza parlor will make you fat and give you a heart attack

A candy store will ruin your teeth and make you fat

I know what I would do, what about you?

Safe a life.

Loose all your teeth and get fat.

Get fat and die of a heart attack.

I must be an over achiever. I've been working on all 3 for several years now :D

I think it should be relocated to Upper Dedham / Precinct One, near the courthouses.[rofl]The beautiful people who live there would go through the roof.
The neighborhood has changed for the worse over the last ten to twenty years. The biggest concern, being located in East Dedham, would be the amount of times the store is attempted to or successfully broken into.
For those that really know the neighborhood, the biggest downfall was the closing of the unofficial checkpoints into the square, Flanagan's / Rick's Pub (now Dunkin Donuts) and the Old Mill Cafe that unofficially kept the neighborhood in check.

Didn’t they find a body off High St. a few years ago as well? I drive into Dedham frequently off Washington via Grove/Bussey. It’s not a great area and it’s not a bad area. It takes some serious will power to not veer off to Tutto’s ever time I’m in the area.

I am sure all the crunchy granola folk of Dedham will allow pot shops to open next to the same schools though.

Pretty close to where I live. I will make sure I go and buy something as soon as they open.
Same here. I am pretty close.

I will definitely buy something. Assuming their prices are not 3x everyone else.

Do you want to go steal some candy from kids at the playground after?

I wonder how close the nearest planned Parenthood is? Or how far from the playground the nearest sex offender lives?

WRONG ARGUMENT. Why convolute this to put gun owners in the same category as these bad things?

Need to make sure to let them know, in no uncertain terms, that the majority of gun owners are good. Also need to make PLAINLY CLEAR that the 2A is a CIVIL RIGHT.

Don't forget Lynne & Vikki's sub shop.

C'mon. Remember when that guy opened the dirty book store in Stoughton center 40 years ago??? Protests were 24/7 until he closed. (Forget the occasional protests at Alex's.)

Today? Not only is there porn on your mobile device at a moment's notice, but there is a dirty book shop about every 50 square miles in this state. Somehow it didn't kill people or cause irreparable harm.

So the same morons are worried now about guns. Open a strip club - see how they like that.

Reminds me of the time when a porn store opened in Winter Hill in Somerville.

It was about 500' or less from where the Mayor lived... Micheal Capuno (I'm sure he's a familiar name to some here).

His response was to have a police cruiser parked out in front of the store during business hours.

I have no idea what the end result was or if that store is even still there (I really doubt it)

Female moonbats. Which is all that the Ch. 7 could find to bleat about the danger.

Nice, unbiased reporting here.

Using news footage of one of the shootings while it was happening, and another of the crime scene.

Residents voice concerns as gun shop sets to open near Dedham playground

At one time there were so many juggalos in Dedham that Dedham Sq Convenience had entire aisle of Faygo.

I'm laughing at that, and the mini market where the gun store is supposed to open.

The only thing missing is Jay and Silent Bob loitering out front selling weed.

There's 100,000,000 gun owners, if gun owners are so bad why do we not have more gun related crimes? If 25% of gun owners committed a gun related mass shooting this year there would be 69,000 mass shootings each and every day. If only 1% gun owners committed a gun related mass shooting this year there would be 2700 mass shootings each and every day.

If it's the gun fault's there are about 400,000,000 guns in the USA if 1% of guns committed a gun related mass shooting there would be 10,958 each and every day.

The problem with Anti-Gun crowd is that they do not have any knowledge about guns or the owners of guns.

Thank you guys for your continued support as we continue to fight the good fight. We were trying to acquire our FFL07 to do cerakote and stippling IN HOUSE.. which requires an FFL07.. The building is not zoned for "Manufacturing". Even though we never planned on creating anything so we went infront of the Zoning Board of Appeals and we were denied a Special Permit at this time because the town.. did not like my location.. no other reason then this. Well they did not Deny it. But they allowed us to withdraw our application. But we did NOT get an approval based on them not liking the location which they REPEATEDLY fail to state is actually NEXT DOOR to a FIRE STATION, and Shopping center. Across the street from a Liquor store.

So what’s the recourse then? Are you able to re-apply later on down the road and open under an FFL01 in the meantime? You got the sh*t end of the turd stick when it comes to timing. I imagine over time the uproar will die down. Just be a good neighbor, seriously. Bring cupcakes to the fire station, maintain a good rapport and fortify the crap outta that place. It also never hurts to keep transfer fees low. Generate some foot traffic that way.
You've got support.
Good luck!

Imagine, people exiting the gun shop having all passed a background check to obtain the gun in their possession. Giving the local thugs a bad name...
