I think it's quite the coincidence the registration number is 4473-AG
If you're a nautical type, you'll like this then:

Time for a modern day cutting-out party?

Not stealing it from its dock/mooring.

Stealthily re-decaling/re-painting the reg number to be

MS 4473 AG

using the original font/paint.
(If that's a Mass boat, they haven't been applied yet).

Hopefully the dolt doesn't notice the swap,
and gets stopped on the water for a "safety inspection" by the clam cops.
And hopefully they run the number and find out it's wrong. [shocked]

what's with all the hate?;)

Remember, remember
the ninth of November
the Gun Parlor treason and plot.
I see no reason
why the Gun Parlor treason
should ever be forgot.

They helped anti-2A news media torpedo online ammo sales in Mass on Nov 9, 2017. And then there’s faxing copies of our personal federal paperwork to the Mass Attorney General. And then their employee trying to cover as an NES member but got caught. And then calling NES a bunch of homos. But curiously also bragging they could bang our wives.

Not saying I condone this kind of thing, but anybody who accidentally puts a few 50BMG through that boat will find no trouble getting reimbursed for their trouble.

Well not if it’s a documented vessel but I still love the idea. Oh and that’s a sweet ride. Too bad the owner sucks.

True that.

I mostly don't think about that option;
but when I do,
I ignorantly associate it with sailboats
signalling their great sailboatyness.
I’m the last god damn person stepping foot on a blow boat. NFW!!! 😂

My slip neighbor in Maine had a documented boat on the lake. Not sure how that worked out and didn’t care. It was too easy to deal with the town and registration.

I had to get rid of a documented sail boat for work that wasn’t ours and it was a slight PITA with the USCG but when you price a 12-15000 boat for 6k people move quickly to make it theirs.

There are a few reasons boats are documented.

Any boat > 5 net tons (which is not the weight, is a formula based on multiple things) that is used commercially must be documented. This boat would not require that designation, is a size range at the bottom of that capacity.

Banks require it to secure their lien, which is a grey area in some states who honor titles on boats, but say in NH you can register a 1 million dollar boat with a bill of sale scribbled on a napkin and that becomes essentially as good as a clean title.

Then some people do it for other reasons, maybe travels outside the US or to be cool and not need to register yearly or have numbers, a way to avoid certain taxes etc etc. But the safety gear and process requirements get more strict if you are documented in some situations too.

Only in retrospect,
slap numbers on it regardless.

Must be some kind of crime
to sport false state registration numbers -
even on a documented vessel.

Say; what's your golf handicap?[smile]

If we get our sea kayaks documented (and they're over 16' LOA [shocked])
do we have to carry two fire extinguishers?

I still shop there occasionally. Around the time of the 4473 F-up I bought a vintage 22 bolt action from them. Thanks to Gun Parlor the Mass AG thinks I'm a Biden-voting Fudd.
