Most people probably dont get that. It allows politicians to pretend theyre actually getting something accomplished without going through the effort of actually getting something accomplished. They cant address actual issues, so they have to make shit up like this and the recent "wipers on, lights on" farce.

Considering the state does nothing about career criminals with a litany of weapons charges they always plead down on, how is a registry going to change anything?

This bill is nothing more than an attempt to create yet another mechanism to intimidate the law abiding public. Screw up one part of the state's convoluted gun laws as a otherwise law abiding person and they'll put you on a registry to embarrass you to all your neighbors. Meanwhile career criminals will wear the damn things as badges of honor as they continue to offend.
