Gun fires accidentally during wedding at Waldorf Astoria

The guest carrying the gun was detained and questioned by police, according to the affiliate, but it is unclear whether he [STRIKE]will face charges.[/STRIKE] is politically connected.

Ugh, I hate it when my guns decide to fire accidentally! I try to set a good example and teach them good trigger control by tossing them in my pocket without a holster but guns can be very stubborn sometimes. [thinking]

That picture of his trousers with the gaping, torn hole in them is hilarious.

I'm thinking three things.

New meaning to shotgun wedding?

Five injured from accidental firing, imagine if he was aiming.

Concealed guns in New York impossible, do you know how hard it is to get a permit there?

Same here, I keep tell my damn pistols to act more responsibly before shoving them into my pocket but they just don't listen

Did they recover the firearm? A version of the story I read lay night said they questioned the guest but had not recovered the firearm.

I see a lot of comments about pocket carrying without a holster in this thread. I didn't know this was a thing. I have pocket carried a hammerless 357 every summer for longer than I care to count. I have never used a pocket holster and have yet to shoot myself or and flooring surface.

It's a sig p938 in condition 1.

Do you have a source?

if you put nothing else in your pocket with your pistol fine, but I've felt the safety latch on the 938, I don't think it would be hard for the latch to pop down out of the safe position accidentally (not to say the latch is defective, it does have a click). But keys or other objects in your pocket could take the gun out of safe, and then something could interact with the trigger. Even though it's similar to the 1911 platform, there's no grip safety.
That's why you want something covering the trigger if you carry this particular pistol cocked and locked.

Oh. In my experience with the SIG P938, the safety does not move out of either position easily.

I missed the post that identified it as a 938, I wouldn't pocket carry that gun. I noticed the few times I carried mine in a crossbreed the safety switched off probably 50% of the time.

A few observations
-The guy in the cuffs looks like a movie actor but I can't place his name.
- The officer doesn't seem to be wearing soft body armor.
- I believe the officer is carrying a Sig. I was under the impression NYPD runs Glocks with the 12lb trigger.

Is that a state trooper possibly?

It's the cop in CSI. Paul Guilfoyle.

I've never been penetrated by a bullet, therefore, I am bulletproof. You have been lucky, even if you won't admit it.

the older ruger lc9 has a manual safety just like the sig. However the NY Post shows a new style LC9 with integral trigger safety.
Either way, No reason not to incorporate something like this into your CC.

The latest Ruger lc9 forgoes the manual safety for an integral trigger safety.

However there's no reason that something that gets into the trigger well can't also deactivate the trigger safety.
