Gun confiscation in Australia

The problem is, is that these people handed in their guns...do you know if they were reimbursed in any ways?

"Criminals are no longer afraid to break into homes." This is why you should be able to shoot anyone in your house who was not invited. Give the thugs a reason to be scared. Crime, like anything else, is a risk/reward game. We need to up the stakes, not lower them.

If you think the problem is that they handed them in, then why does it matter if they were reimbursed?

I was just curious to know if when confiscated, any of these people got anything in return. Mainly in respect to the man in the video who said he was a collector, who's collection could have been worth a vast amount of money.
