Anyone know of a source for the foam rubber to line the inside of a hardshell Rifle case?

McMaster-Carr? I'm guessing they would have it - of course you'd have to cut to fit (I'd also guess it would be $$ from them). Any shipping supply place should have it though. I don't think it is anything too special.

Edit: are you looking for the egg crate style foam? or closed cell foam?

Couple options:
Take a look at a foam pad used for camping and back packing under a sleeping bag.
Hospital Supply for foam mattress pads.
McMaster-Carr should have some as well. If they don't have it you don't need it.

I went to a place in Allston to buy some (it's not as cheap as people might think).

You'll want a closed cell or camera case foam.

They have foam in about every thickness you can imagine.
