Here is a town list type your town and the color and someone will make the edit. Although we will do our best to keep this list accurate and updated as always your (Federal & State) constitutional right has the last say. This list is compiled from the experiences of NES members.

Bold Green required by law to issue "pistol/revolver" license"

Bold Red Local chief doesn't support the concept of a shall-issue "pistol/revolver" license" as defined in NH law but still issues as required by the law.

Cities in Bold Black are almost Impossible or impossible to Obtain a "pistol/revolver" license"

Cities not in bold are still awaiting member feedback at this time.

(posting this partly tongue-in-cheek as a parody of the MA list and partly to remind people that there are still chiefs and politicians in NH that oppose "shall-issue")

The Police Chiefs in Enfield and Lebanon testified recently in favor of the proposed SB-44 that would change NH from shall-issue to may-issue.

So they still issue the licenses? We have chiefs here who will refuse to issue licenses and accept applications for FIDs which they do not have the authority to refuse.

Is that all the towns in NH? Don't you have any T12R8 unorganized townships over there????????

That is all the locations recognised by the state of New Hampshire for the purposes of collecting property tax - so it should be a complete list.

So they still issue the licenses? We have chiefs here who will refuse to issue licenses and accept applications for FIDs which they do not have the authority to refuse.

The Chief of Lebanon tried to refuse a shall-issue license to a resident of his town. Said resident admitted to being a gang member which is why the chief wanted to deny him the license. It went to court and the chief lost.

While I respect the chief for the stand he took I have to ask: why didn't he spend the town's money that was spent on the lawsuit on observing the gang member and seeing if he was in fact a criminal - he commits a crime then you arrest him... or he doesn't commit a crime, in other words is a law abiding citizen, and then you issue him a license.

From listening to the testimony posted on youtube by massbackwards it unfortunately came across more like a liability issue with the chief not wanting to issue a license to someone who appeared to be a criminal in case he did something wrong and the chief got sued for issuing the license.

The chief also rubbed me the wrong way by emphasing hunting and therefore his understanding of gun ownership. With all due respect chief: the Second Amendment is not about hunting.

Edit to add: also article 2-a of the New Hampshire State Constitution: All persons have the right to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves, their families, their property and the state.

Three years, four months and counting until I retire, depart the Worker's Paradise, and head north. Maybe sooner if the bull market continues for a while longer.

As a service* to all NES members, I thought it would be helpful to publish NH's "Approved Firearms Roster":

ALL OF THEM

Nobody mentioned the reason why N.H Police Chiefs are respectful of peoples rights, it's because they're ELECTED Officials. Piss off your voters and you're soon out of a job. Mass is just the opposite, CLEO's are APPOINTED and don't have to answer to the voters.
