Guide to gun rights in your Massachusetts town

Status
Not open for further replies.
It was made black because of some idiotic B-ramming of noobs. Not that I agree with the classification either, but that is what transpired to cause the change.

danvers issues class b's to some people. the city itself is inconsistent with 1st time issues. some people have B's and others A.

danvers supposedly upgrades B's to A's upon renewal.

but like i said, they do give A's to some people, so Black would be the wrong classification.

Fixed.

as far as i know hamilton is the only Black city in the northshore. the cheif their refuses to issue any sort of Class A to anyone. ive never seen anything higher then a class b come from that city.

Danvers is NOT a black town.

Well their chief is out in 2 months so hopefully that will change for you guys.

They are getting a new chief starting sept. 1 they just announced, a Connecticut trooper.

Its funny that Hamilton / Wenham for all intents and purposes is considered one town by many people, Wenham is absolutely no problem and a very professional department, and Hamilton was next to impossible.

Lynnfield should be green but I would be curious if what you are seeing there.

close to 5 months... they dont move to fast in peabody. as soon as i get it in the mail i am gonna fill out my renewal form.

Based on my single, personal data point, Lexington is Green. I was a first time applicant, LTC Class A, ALP. I received the permit in about 4 months earlier this summer.

Without me going back and searching every listing in this thread - anyone else have input for Lexington?

You don't need to manually search the thread. If you log in, near the top of the page is a "Search this Thread" button. Just type in Lexington. You will see there are no other entries.

Lexington seems to be famous in terms of taking their time [thinking]

Hey, at least I got it.

Not sure how much thought they actually put into it. The process seemed rather mechanical. I'm a little more moderate in my view - I'm glad it takes some time, and I hope they do consider it carefully. A LTC is a powerful privilege.

Congrats on getting the LTC! [grin]

Sadly, the problem in the PRM is that it is a privilege and not a right. [frown]

That's moonbat speak, stop that right now! [angry]

In all honesty though, it's not a privilege at all.

Congrats on getting the LTC! [grin]

+1, it's unfortunate that our rights hold so little value in the PRM.

What part of "the right of the people shall not be infringed" don't you understand sweetie? It's not a priviledge - it's a right. As far as taking some times goes - the STATE mandated 40 days. That's the law and way too many don't pay attention to it.

One last little thing - I know how to search - I'm a Mod. I was asking for help....but thank you for point that out. [grin]

Auburn, as stated before is definitely green. Had my interview on 07/07/09 and I recieved the call that it was in on the 24th...Class A w no restrictions...

Im pumped :)

A friend of mine just told me about a very green experience in Bellingham. First application asked for ALP got it no issues...

1. The whole idea of my list was for people to actually tell us about their experiences, and others can actually take the time to research their towns (not be a simple cheat sheet).

2. If I changed every town to green that I have seen LTC-A ALP's for, the whole list would piratically be green. There are towns where you may or may not get a LTC-A ALP depending on who you are, what your backround is and unfortunately who you know. As far as I am concerned, any town where a first time applicant with no priors doesn't get a non-restricted LTC-A, should not be listed as green.

3. I have a lot of work into this list and every couple months someone bitches about it or wants to change it. If you really want I'll delete the whole thing some one can make their own much better list.

BJ, dont take this like we are attacking your work here. We very much appreciate what youve done. however, a few of us here have the time and some extra resources that make us think we can improve the current system.

while it works good, some parts are outdated. the map is rarely updated and the list is updated whenever a mod comes around and feels like doing it. Myself, and the members of the LTC user group are actively looking for solutions to make this thread a more useful tool that not only provides more information, but updated on a regular basis.

Where did you come up with this? With the exception of the last two weeks where I have had some major personal problems in my life, I check this on a regular basis. Here is my proof, this shows when and by whom the listed was edited by.

It just kinda pisses me off when people decide on there own to revise my work without formally asking me first.

The two efforts are not competitive, nor is it a revision. The work done in the group is creating a structured and detailed comparative database of all sorts of issues regarding licensing. Here is a chance for people to share their stories and get at a glance info relevant to their town. The database effort requires this thread for its info. I hope that the database becomes deep and detailed enough in the future to be able to statistically correlate license availability with both race and income and anything else people want to look at. Anyone looking at your map can see that correlation, but they can't prove the correlation statistically with what is here. The antis throw data at us all of the time and the more we can throw back, the better.

BJ, i am in no way trying to bash your system here in this thread. the only thing that i thought was antiquated was the map, which in my opinion is typical outdated 90% of the time. new map ideas are one of our main goals in this project. also, having people mindlessly search through this thread is a frustrating affair for anyone, like i said we think we can come up with ideas to make it easier to navigate the massive amount of info.

i didnt even think to ask you for permission becuase i didnt think i needed it. if i thought i did i would of asked, but it seems like its to late for that now and your bent out of shape.

keep in mind i sent out a PM to a lot of people (on 22JUL09) about this new project, and you did not reply in anyway to that PM. as far as i knew you didnt care what was going on, and the project continued on with the few people who showed interest in some new ideas and material.

i honestly did not know how seriously you took this thread. i figured it was just another thread on NES, and this one was in my opinion due for a overhaul. the PM i sent im sure came off harsh to you, as i did not know that this was your thing here. i really wish you got into touch with me last week about this and not now when we have the wheels spinning

this project is going to continue on. it might be a success or it might be a failure. not only is it up to you and the rest of the staff to continue to provide useful and important info, it is up to other NES members with excellent skills in information sharing. BA2, terra and myself can not do this on our own.
i dont know what else to say.

You never properly responded to my last post about the edits, but please do this time. Can you so me where "90%" of the info is outdated?

.
My goal he was for people to be able to read about others experiences, not just have a cheat sheet. The search function works fine for this.

Well I literally have 3 years into this project that I started, maybe a PM just from you to me would have been courteous

keep in mind i sent out a PM to a lot of people (on 22JUL09) about this new project, and you did not reply in anyway to that PM. as far as i knew you didnt care what was going on, and the project continued on with the few people who showed interest in some new ideas and material.
Here is the first sentence from your PM, "hi guys, i made a new user group in order to fix the mess of a thread that the MA LTC thread is." I lost interest about the rest of the message real fast.

i honestly did not know how seriously you took this thread. i figured it was just another thread on NES, and this one was in my opinion due for a overhaul.
Again I have years into this thread. We have over 8k users on here, the same 20 people complain about my system, so I guess the whole system needs an overhaul.

the PM i sent im sure came off harsh to you, as i did not know that this was your thing here. i really wish you got into touch with me last week about this and not now when we have the wheels spinning

I don't expect you to have a crystal ball or read minds, but as I said in my last post I have had some major personal problems for the last couple weeks. If you don't get a reply from a pm, it could be because there is something wrong.

Might I suggest that everyone look at the town? If you're only looking at the map, then maybe your missing a note next to the town. I was here when BJ first started this and it was for informational purposes only. It was never meant to be more.

If you want to gather statistics, I applaud your effort in doing that, but understand this list was only to give the folks applying an idea of what kind of time they'd have with the town or city.

And might I suggest that if you have any further questions or concerns about the list that it be taken to PM or email?
