Guardsmen get spooked...

Does anybody else watch Ghost Hunters on SciFi?

Yup. Infact, I channel. (For those who don't know what the word means...that means I can sense spirits and sometimes "speak" to them.)

(I can see an "Off Topic" thread starting now...)

Do you do it on demand, or does it just happen without warning?

Well, it used to happen without warning, which was sometimes not appropo or pleasant, until I learned how to sheild myself, but I can basically do it "on demand". :D

I used to read tarot cards a lot when I was a teen ager. But I lost interest when they kept telling me the same stuff over and over.

Lynne, do you do connections with the dead for people or are there only certain situations where you can do it?

I'm jealous.

PM incoming.

Just got an email from my buddy who's in the guard and was one of the ones sent to NO. He's home and will be at the event this coming weekend. I'll ask him if he heard any of these stories about the "ghosts" as well as whether or not he disarmed anyone. I'll post what I get from him after the weekend.

As promised, I spoke with our guy who's a Sgt. FC in the NG's MP unit. (btw, he's a Confederate re-enactor and his unit's designation was Yankee - he was grimicing when he heard it [lol] ) Anywho...he didn't hear any stories from his guys about "ghosts", but I did hear a number of stories from him.

1st - the guy in the pick up that was arrested with all the firearms, etc? He was questioned by the ATF and released AND, he was given all of his stuff back. I asked Pete, "Everything?" He nodded yes, "Yup, everything."

I asked him if he confiscated any firearms. He said the only time they did that is when the individual in question was pointing it at them. He said their ROE was pretty simple - anyone points anything at you, you're weapons free. None of his guys shot anyone tho. He said there was a couple instances where it got a bit scary, but with a half dozen armed guardsmen pointing all their guns at the individual screaming "Drop it or you're swiss cheese.", the individual complied.

He did tell all of us if we decide to send any money, to please send it to the SPCA for the animals. He said that with all the human tragedy, the saddest parts were the animals. He said people will find a way to survive and they'll be a ton of money for them, but the animals are helpless.

And, he didn't know the guy's name, but, evidently a PGA golfer who lives down there sent gormet chefs and food over to the Coastie station to cook three meals a day for all the Coasties as well as all the emergency personal and troops that were down there helping out. Evidently the Coasties saved part of this guys family and he wanted to show his appreciation. As far as I know, the chefs are still there and cooking for everyone. I thought that was really cool.
