If you could get one of these which one would you pick? I can get both for about the same price so cost isn't a dividing issue. Thoughts?

15-22. You can put anything on it that you can put on an AR-15, so its a great trainer. Cheaper to shoot than a real AR but the same controls.

I chose M&P.

(Now available with Realtree camo, if you like that.)

M&P 15-22. The GSG series is nothing but headaches when it comes to feeding. The M&P 15-22 has been surprisingly reliable given that we're dealing with dressed up .22s.

My GSG never burps, and I have thousands of rounds downrange. Every bit as reliable as the 15-22's I've seen at the range.

The best surrogate trainer for an AR-15 is an AR-15. Drop a $150 conversion into it and don't look back. Weight, controls, trigger, sights, all the same.

15-22 and GSG are strictly fun guns. Very, very fun guns.

The 2 friends I have that had the gsg traded then in in less than 3 months..... I put I mag thru it and handed it back.

No offense to anyone that has one, but they seem VERY hit or mis when it comes to their quality.

I just want to go to the range and not drop a grip every time. Im averaging between 500-1500 rds a visit, it would be nice if I could sub in some .22lr in the mix lol.

I got the GSG 5 and love it, but I only shoot CCI Mini Mags. I'm sure that makes a difference in performance.

Specifically something "tacticool"? There so many better options for a .22. How about a dedicated upper for an AR?

No I would rather have something separate from my AR. I just want something fun because I typically am plinking and not training to be a HSLD operator haha.

M&P 15-22

I have a 15-22. Mostly my gf shoots it. Over 2500 rounds thru it and never a single issue. It has always been incredibly accurate. Great fun gun you can customize cheaply. I definitely recommend it, but I've never spot the GSG.

The M&P is also easy to clean. Works great with all the different ammo I've used. Been fun and flawless.

I am planning on throwing a tapco stock on a 10/22 when I get home and calling it a day. Cheaper than every alternative I have seen, and its just a dressed up 10/22.

15-22. I'm not a fan of the ergonomics of the GSG/MP-5. Flame away, but the few I've shot have never felt comfortable to me but the AR platform does.

Hit or miss, dude. We've got 3 of them up here in various configurations and they all seem to suffer from it eventually. It's a really weird bolt mechanism. I've only got one of the 15-22s on hand, but know of three others that have had no problems.

Whatever, though. Tacticool .22s are gayer than 10/22s, so I'm not even sure why I got involved in this discussion.

Because by your own quote you've got at least 4 of them? [devil]

I've got a 15-22 and I love it. I have never handled the GSG-5, so I can't comment on it. The 15-22 is an absolute blast to shoot, though. Worth every penny.

15k plus through my gsg's had a screw or 2 loosen up
other than that, not any issues that were gun related,
i'm shooting walmart federal bulk always get a few bad rounds
but again, not gun related,

I love my 10/22. I've played with the other .22 rifles, the smith, the gsg, the mossberg (yuck!). The only other .22s I ever liked were the Henry lever .22, and the Savage .22 bolt rifle. Everything else feels like you're shooting an airsoft gun.

I just purchased the Sig 522 and it was only 430 at collectors in Stoneham. The gun is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone! Definitely worth every penny!

Never shot the GSG but Ive shot the 15-22 a few times and found it to be a pretty good gun. Im with whatluck though, and would choose my 10/22 over either of them any day

I have a 10/22 and love it. Shot a friend's mp15-22 today and like it a lot. Light & accurate but the sights suck in dim light. Needs a scope or red dot.

im getting the same for my wife i started her on a 9mm and she says the recoil hurts her boob job too much so it looks like a mp1522 will be perfect. and to be honest i'd love to shoot it aswell
