Gouging

There is no such thing as "price gouging". Nobody is obligated to give you a good deal. Every time you buy something you have the choice of purchasing at the price the person advertises, walking away and looking for a better price somewhere else, trying to bargain the price down, purchasing an entirely different item - or leaving you money in your wallet.

Only ignorant people, people who want to get something for nothing - and socialist liberals who feel entitled to get things for nothing would think there is price gouging.

You feel threatened by the administration - yet you adhere to one of their beliefs which rise out of their beliefs in socialism - which is price controls.

If you intend on owning one then continue doing what you are doing right now - searching for a good price. If you TRULY believe what you said:

then the "gouging" price you are seeing right now is simply the market reflecting what people believe these rifles will be worth in the future. What you have is two conflicting views: 1) that they will ban semi-auto's - and: 2) that the rifle is priced too high.

Either one of those could be true - but not BOTH of them.

Stop acting like a liberal and expecting a handout. If you truly believe that they will ban semi-auto's then you should also admit that the price that is being asked today may well be a bargain in the future.

If you don't like the $1800 price on Gunbroker - then go buy at Four Seasons and support a businessman who charges a decent price. Let the guy who is trying to get $1800 for the same thing sit on his rifle and go out of business.

You will not change things by believing in the very same things you claim to oppose.

Or maybe we need bailouts now to afford over-priced rifles?

There is no ugly side of capitalism. There are only free choices. If you refuse to exercise free will - then guess what: you will get taken. This is a simple human truth that has been true since man first started exchanging shiny rocks with each other and will remain true until the day we are all wiped out by aliens or the sun explodes.

Stop feeding the ignorance.

Who said anything about obligation? The hope is that somewhere within capitalism there is a modicum of reason. You dangerously sling about words such as "ignorance" and "socialistic liberalism" with abandon without knowing anything about the people you're addressing. I can tell you as one who's a Gold Star family member, I am more acutely attuned to the environs of capitalism and their ensuing cost than you can ever hope to be, so don't attempt to lecture me on the choices of free market trade, who is what, or the cost of supporting the system that for now, runs America. You don't know jack. Instead why don't you focus your viritrol on new news. Ignorance is a four lane highway it appears.

The ultimate question is when is enough profit enough? No one, with the exception of the fringe element is adverse to profit....not even healthy profit, but there comes a time when profit becomes obscene. That you find no ugly side to capitalism is one of the most ludicrous statements I've read here today. Tell that to the guy on the Maine coast who's family lived on their land for 250 years, making a living from the sea who then gets evicted because he can't pay the taxes any more on property bought up around him, turned into million dollar parcels. He'd gut you with his fillet knife.

Damn straight I find this present Administration threatening and dangerous. There's was this subtle hint: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHmecy94z-M. Followed a year later by the directive from the DoD to destroy all that brass, which fortunately was thwarted by two Senators from Montana: http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/node/6586 Then we have our apologist Secretary of State, spreading the bogus and unfounded information in her visit to Mexico City in which she made the ignorant statement that over 90% of arms supplying the border war with Mexico was flowing in from the U.S., which she then had to backpeddle on. Couple that with the liberal agenda of attempting to eradicate conservative talk radio, buying up banks, indoctrination in our public schools, bowing before Saudi royalty, stating that we are not a Christian nation........all leads me to certain conclusions and comparsons. Not having a healthy sense of fear or whatever YOU wish to call it is similar to the frog, who is eventually brought to boil in that pan of water, as the heat is incrementally turned up.

So you're luxury item, may be someone elses necessity. It's all based on perception. Buy, don't buy are things that people already understand. Yet, at a time where some of us see a very disturbing pattern developing, we are no longer looking at it so much as just a want. I don't live in fear, but I fully believe in being prepared. And, when people attempt to profit on that concern, to me, that's gouging, because there aren't too many employed in the market who don't understand that. I don't care what you want to dismiss it as. And I'm not alone.

Ha. People are NOT buying them because they're more concerned with future market price. For everyone one of them, there are probably two thinking more along the lines of this, brought to us by the corporate owned ABC news.....and don't forget to note the additional spin: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=6960824

What your rave has demonstrated for me is that you either never read what I'd been saying, or that clearly you never understood my point. I have no intention of getting taken, I'm a pretty patient individual. I'd just like to see the best of man float a bit closer to the surface.

All this angst over a DPMS AP-4?

Can someone sum this whole thread up in less than a paragraph?

"We all hate gouging"
"This has been posted before"
"Screw you I'm posting it again"
"You suck"
"No, you suck"
"No, you suck"
"Nuh uh"
"Yah huh"
"OK, you don't really suck"
"OK, neither do you"
"I still think you suck"
"There is no gouging"
"You guys suck again"
"You suck"
