ok...need a new toy...

im considering either a preban underfolder norinco AK

or a dsa stg58c carbine

they are both around the same price...what do you guys suggest?

need help makin this decision as ive been losing sleep about which one to buy[wink]

The AK is a bit more practical because of its size and weight. You sacrifice punch by choosing it over the .308, but you'll have trouble free function and higher magazine capacity. Plus theres so much you can do with an AK, especially a higher end model like the Norinco, if you want the black rifle look.

If you've got enough...Why not both?

haha i knew some one would say that...i have just barely enough to get both...then id be broke for a few weeks...unless i can work some kind of deal

mil4me...only reason why im leaning toward the stg was the fact that it was .308...i have an arsenal ak and a mak90 in 7.62x39 and a vepr k in 5.45

the only factor thats making it difficult for me is i fell in love with the look and compactness (if thats a word) of the underfolder stock

I would get the Fal. I hate underfolding stocks on an AK.

If you want an AK, get a preban with a regular stock on it and then put
an ACE folder on it if you really want to have that feature.

Krinks are nice (been considering it myself), but then there's the CLEO sign-off and $200.00 NFA tax stamp to consider.

Then on top of that in MA if you want one that folds you'd have to
use a preban reciever to build it. Otherwise you have to deal
with pinning it open. Kinda defeats the purpouse of a Krink. (SBR
registration doesn't bypass the limitations imposed by the AWB, at least
it didn't when federal AWB was still in effect... and I don't think MA has
any SBR exception to the MA AWB either. )

i would love a krink build but dont wanna deal with all the other bs that goes along with it...if i were to do anything along those lines id try and get the green card so i could get some aow's like an ak pistol

My vote is for the STG FAL. I think the STG kits are probably the best of that variant. I've shot both the rifle and carbine extensively and really like the way they handle. I've had an AK, but not for very long. It felt way too small for me and I couldn't get over the "crudeness". A lot of people love them. I don't.

In that case being that you already have like 3 other
high quality AK's, I'd go for the FAL, if I was in
your shoes. Just make sure you find a nice source
of milsurp to feed the thing. If you look around hard
enough you can still find some places selling SA milsurp
for not too much money.
