So I had to bring a couple locksets to the locksmith to have them all keyed alike. While I was there I noticed he had some novelty keys. I picked one out for the lock on my gun room.

I hope I remember what it goes to.

I don't know. That looks pretty scary. I'm think they should be banned so children cannot see it hanging from your key ring!!! [laugh]

Pretty cool though.

So.... now we all have keys to your gunroom, given a file and a blank ;)

No kidding. Most people blank out serial numbers when they post online, here is a perfectly-duplicatable key.

What's the combo to the safe?

I do like the gun-key, though. Very cool.

What are the numbers? I have the actual photo and I cant read them.

Plus you need to know where I live, work faster than my alarm, get into the room, open the safe, and get away. Oh and hope like hell I'm not home. I can guarantee at least one neighbor is home at any given time and sometimes my wife and almost always the dog.

Don't worry, I'm not dumb enough to try anything.

Maybe I've seen too many spy movies where they press a key into a bar of soap and then make a duplicate.

I see you got the mass compliant version with 6 teeth. If it was over 10 you'd be looking at 5 years hard time.

Back in college I knew guys that did exactly that and it worked.

Someone could actually make a usable key from that picture if they are patient enough with a file.

Thanks for posting. We all need to be reminded that a key part of our security plan is our control of the codes and keys.

If a code - or a key - is ever available to someone else, it should be presumed to have been compromised.
