Got a letter from S&W

That's what my buddy did with his 30.06 bolt action rifle. I believe it's called an "I-Bolt rifle". The thing would ftf about 50% of the time. How can a bolt action rifle not fire? Turned out the bolt wasn't drilled properly and the fp was not in the center. It would hit the primer plenty hard but not where it was supposed to but off to the side just enough so the primer didn't fire. So, he sent it back to S&W to be repaired. They called to tell him that they'd suspended the manufacturing of their bolt rifles and offered to replace his. He said no thank you and asked for him bucks back which they did without any problem. When then went out and bought nice Marlin instead.

Seems to be some QC issues over at S&W.
