Gopher Hunting

Hey guys, so I'm new to hunting and firearms and I'm going for my hunting certification in June.

I'm looking to do some gopher hunting with my bow before I start hunting large game to build some confidence at shooting at live game instead of paper targets. Does anyone have any suggestions where I should go to find them?

I've looked online and haven't found any specific areas to go.

I would be up for squirrels or rabbits, but gophers have a 50 week no bag limit season.

Sorry I didnt get back to you sooner, I'm in my last semester of Grad school so my life is nuts right now. But I'm looking to go the last weekend in June and the first weekend in July. The last day of my safety class is on June 21st.
Anyway I live down in Rockport, there are lots of fields here but it would be sketchy hunting them because they're vert visable to the public and I'm sure tourists don't wanna see me killing stuff when they're trying to relax.

Yeah thats what I meant, I get those two species confused all the time. From what info I have gathered, most fields in MA/NH will have gophers if they are large enough.

Does this sound about right?

When you find a place to hunt go early in the morning and late in the afternoon are the best times, but you can see them all day.
