I read where Remington is no longer offering 700s in either of the Short Action Ultra Mag calibers, and is now offering the 270 and 300 Winchester Short Mags (WSM) instead.
That suggests that you want to avoid buying any of the guns already made in 270 or 300 SAUM, or you want to lay in a good supply of ammo and/or brass.
Or conversely, that you might want to buy one a put it away unfired, in the hope that it will appreciate significantly in 20 or 30 years.
Depends of course on whether you view a half glass of water as half full or half empty.
