Good 1 1/2 single stage press?

Hi everyone,

I got a 7/8 single stage lee challenger off a member here, however I discovered recently that my .221 sizing die is a different size (1.5"). What's the better single stage press for that? Lee has a cast one for $107, but at that point I can probably find something better quality.

RCBS, Lyman, Redding, Hornady all have presses with the larger threads. Most have a bushing system to step down to 7/'8-14 and use the larger threads for .50 dies. Surprised that your .221 die is that size.

It was custom made by Lee, part of a group buy. Definitely would not be cheaper to buy a new die.

You said the caliber is .221. If you mean .221 Fireball, sizing dies are available from Midway for about 30 bucks.
