Gold and silver prices are down

Badass rendition. I think this tops Metallica's version from "And Justice For All".
If not for all the impending house projects, I'd have to add one to my stack.😠
I like Scottsdale Mint because they are the actual mint for a lot of countries around the world.

I also like their generic bullion. I feel confident when I buy from them that their coins are not gold foil wrapped around lead.

Silver and gold getting beaten again this morning.

I ordered a couple of these. About $3/ounce over spot but very cool item. A 1 kilo pure silver coin.

Not a bad deal for a 100 year old gold coin in uncirculated condition...

Gold bars from Costco, and silver coins and bars from Walmart, both just above spot price, what is the world coming to? And earns cash back when you use the store brand credit card.

Walmart says APMEX is the seller & shipper for their silver. Costco isn't saying who fulfills their 1 oz PAMP and RAND bars?

I also don't know what happens to safe deposit boxes when banks go under? I assume you get your stuff but still anxiety provoking.
FDIC-insured banks almost never "go under" anymore, another bank is incentivized to take over and will continue operations a day later.

Even an extant bank might eventually close out the branch your box is in, but as long as you are reachable this is also usually a nothingburger. My old bank went through something like this, gave me multiple month's advance notice via email, postal mail, etc.

Wow, thank you! You just showed me I can get silver/gold from Walmart.com and get 5% cash back with their credit card. They have a 1/2oz eagle from bullion exchange for $1022 right now. That’s about $50 over spot per coin.

Hmmm... I'm an executive member at Costco. I think when I use their credit card I get 4% back.

Well done, sensei!

These are dope.

Those are cool, Scottsdale Mint makes cool stuff, but it's basically a gold round, right? I think I'd rather just pay a little more for a Buffalo or Eagle.

I wish gold was on my radar back then, but I spent everything I could on camera lenses, computer hardware etc, so it's not like I had spare cash.
And you did it during one of the biggest technological disinflation cycles in history. Well, at least you got into miners during the best time in history though!

hasn't panned out so far. Luckily I only buy miners with multi-year low stink bids, but even those prices I paid are now looking extreme.

Yes.. legal tender though so not just a bullion. I have purchased American eagles from them as well. I don't mind having a few different denominations in the collection.

Didn’t you buy during the Trump slump of 2015-16?

PMs yes, but don't think I started buying miners til more like 2018. Like that's when I acquired my Great Bear stock under $2.

Marathon gold was one of my earliest purchases, was May 2018.

Miners seem to regularly offer you multi-year low prices to buy. [laugh]
